    It’s a Great Time toCoaches Be a Griffon 2011-2012 Griffon Basketball HEAD COACH LYNN PLETT Lynn Plett begins his fifth season at the helm of the Griffon Women’s Basketball program. Plett guided the Griffons back to the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2008. He also guided the Griffons to a winning record for the first time since 2004-2005. Western finished with a 14-13 overall record and 11-11 in MIAA action. He coached two players who earned MIAA honors. Jessica Koch was named to the All-MIAA Second Team while Rachel Luteyn earned All-MIAA Third Team. Luteyn was also named the Missouri Western State University Female Student-Athlete of the Year. In 2009-2010 Plett coached Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection Jessica Koch and In 2008-2009, Koch was also named the MIAA Freshman of the Year. In 2007-2008, Plett’s first year at MWSU, he had three players named to All-MIAA teams and two All-Region selections in Jill Johnson and Yanique Javois. Plett came to MWSU from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, where he led the Flyers program HEAD COACH LYNN PLETT for the previous five seasons (2002-2007). Plett became the seventh Missouri Western head coach on June 20, 2007. During the 2006-2007 season, Plett led his team to a school best 28-4 record and was the host institution and #1 seed of the 2007 Great Lakes Regional Tournament. Lewis also won both the Great Lakes Valley Eastern Division Conference Championship and Great Lakes Valley Post-Season Tournament Championship.
