OCF Softboxes Mounting Instruction About OCF Softboxes OCF Softboxes Mounting instruction About OCF Softboxes Profoto OCF Softboxes are softboxes tailor-made for fast and easy on-location photography. Like any other softbox, OCF Softboxes create a soft and flattering light. But unlike any other softbox, they are made in a unique material that is both lightweight and easy to fold and unfold. Add to that the fixed diffuser, the patent-pending speedring and the color-coded rods. Put all that together, and you have a softbox that is faster and easier to set up than any other on the market. We have created four different OCF Softboxes to choose from, each with a unique size and shape: strip, square, rectangular and octagonal. All four can be equipped with a Softgrid for even more precise light shaping. Learn how to mount your OCF Softbox fast and easy and how to combine it with a softgrid and/or our OCF Gels in this quick guide. 1 Check the color of the dot on the rods of your softbox, e.g. if there’s a blue dot you simply match it with the blue dots on your OCF Speedring. 2 Place the rod into the OCF Speedring. 3 Press the rod upwards. Now you hear a click, which means the rod is mounted correctly into the OCF Speedring. 4 Now do the same procedure with the rest of the rods, continuing to match with the same color. By first mounting only one or two rods fully into the speedring (see step 2 and 3), the other rods are easier to mount in position. 5 Now press the rest of the rods upwards until you hear the click. 6 Tighten the softbox fabric with the Velcro to prevent light from leaking out. Stretch tight. 7 The softbox is ready to be used. Now mount it on your Profoto Off-Camera Flash. How to combine the OCF Softbox with the softgrids 1 Mount the softgrid on the OCF Softbox by starting in one upper corner. Then easily put it on the remaining corners. 2 Now the softgrid is mounted correctly. How to combine the OCF Softbox with the OCF Gels 1 Mount the OCF Softbox on your Profoto Off-Camera Flash, just as you would without the gel. 2 Open the Velcro openings of the softbox. Insert your prepared OCF Gel Kit and mount it on your Profoto Off-Camera Flash. Attention This product may only be used with Profoto Off-Camera flashes that have a LED modeling light. Follow the instructions to avoid jamming your fingers. For more information and inspiration: profoto.com/offcameraflash.
