Digital Media Centre

This 10,000-square-foot integrated newsroom features video editing suites, a television studio, interview booths, audio production booths and meeting rooms. It’s used by several Media Studies programs to create content for QNet News, an award-winning online community news service with coverage throughout the Bay of Quinte region, and for the award-winning Pioneer publication. Content is generated across multiple platforms – from radio and television to print and online. Students are on the cutting edge of experiential learning as they gather and distribute high-quality news and information within an ever-changing media landscape.

The newly renovated third floor of the Northumberland Wing in the Kente Building, home of Health & Wellness programs at Loyalist, is where students and faculty from Health & Wellness and other disciplines collaborate on innovative programming, projects and applied research. 2018/19 International Student Fees*

Applicants who applied for a student visa may pay the following fees for regular full- time post-secondary programs (two semesters per year). Fees related to programs that are less than or greater than two semesters in length will be adjusted accordingly. Please note that a minimum payment equivalent to one semester is required prior to the start of classes. However, we encourage students to pay for the entire academic year in one transfer. Costs related to textbooks, instruments and supplies vary from $500 to $2,500 per year, depending on the program. Most of these items are available through the College Bookstore.

Health Insurance

Your tuition payment includes mandatory one-year health insurance for international students while you are in Canada. It is highly recommended that you purchase your own travel insurance if arriving in Canada before this date. Students who do not confirm with the International Coordinator that they are planning to arrive and begin classes will not be automatically registered for this insurance and therefore will not be covered. Medical attention can be expensive in Canada, so it is very important to have this coverage. Your policy will not cover pre-existing conditions.
