2014 Scott Harvey Mountain Selectionproduct-pdf - Amador County, Sierra Foothills AVA - 92 Points & Editors' Choice - Wine Enthusiast Why We're Drinking It $0 Shipping Selection (6+ bottles)

92 points and Editors' Choice for the team at Scott Harvey Wines, who’ve treasured and perfected ’s pride and joy, the grape, and set the bar high for the Shenandoah Valley in Amador County. ● One of the premier Zinfandel-growing regions in the state, Amador County boasts old vines and granite soils perfect for cultivating them into distinctive, earthy, and full bodied wines by the time they end up in the bottle. ● 95% Zinfandel from the 40-year old vines at the Bowman Vineyard; evened out with 3% and 2% for added earthiness. ● 2014 was a drought vintage, producing lower yields of smaller, more exceptional fruit. ● With a good amount of natural tannin, this wine has great ageing potential, though we’d recommend drinking sometime between now and the next 3 years. ● Less zesty and spicy than your typical California Zinfandel, this is distinctly old world and claret like, and will round out any Zin-aficionado’s cellar nicely.
