NHS Croydon Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment Version 1 NHS Croydon Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment Annex A – Map of Community Pharmacies and Community Pharmacy District List Version 1 Publication date 1 February 2011 Review Date 1 February 2014 Pharmacy Provision This section details the community pharmacy provision in Croydon. Supplementary statements will be issued where there have been changes in the availability of pharmaceutical services and where the Contract Management Panel has agreed that a revised PNA would be a disproportionate response. Annex A is a stand alone document that contains a map showing all Community Pharmacies and the District List which details opening hours and NHS Services provided. This Annex will be updated in line with supplementary statements if appropriate. NHS Croydon Pharmaceutical Needs Annex A Version 1 Page 2 of 16 Croydon Pharmaceutical District List Essential Service All Community Pharmacists provide essential services to patients. These services include dispensing, repeat dispensing, signposting to other services, public health promotions, advice on medicines, support for self care, disposal of unwanted medicines and sharps disposal. Some Community pharmacists also provide advanced and enhanced services. The advanced service is Medication Use Reviews / Prescription Intervention and those providing this service are annotated with the letter A. Enhanced Services Minor ailment scheme MAS Supervised Administration Schemes SAM/SAB Needle Exchange Service NES Smoking Cessation Service SC Emergency Hormonal Contraception (under Patient EHC Group Direction) (note that all community pharmacists are able to sell EHC where appropriate) Chlamydia Screening Service (under Patient CSS Group Direction) Anti-coagulation Service AC Chlamydia Screening Service CSS Truss Fitting Service TFS Out of Hours Services There is an OOH service provided by community pharmacists for urgent prescriptions and advice. There also hold an agreed stock of palliative care drugs. They are contactable by mobile phone. The telephone number has been made available to healthcare professionals across Croydon PCT and is available from 20:00 to 09:00 each weekday from Monday to Saturday, all day Sunday and from 19:00 to 09:00 on Bank Holidays. 'Rotas' are established in various parts of Croydon where it is considered necessary to provide for one or more pharmacies to be open for short periods on Public Holidays and on Easter Sunday. When a pharmacy is closed on these days, information on the rota arrangements can be found in the pharmacy window and also by contacting NHS Direct on 0845 4647. Apart from on Easter Sunday, a rota service does not operate on Sundays.
