“Serbian ” Novi Sad is the second largest city in Serbia and the administrave seat of the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina. Lying on the river , Novi Sad covers an area of 1105 km2 and has a populaon of about 22,000.Novi Sad is an industrial and financial centre of the Serbian economy, as well as a major cultural centre. The name Novi Sad means "New Plantaon" (noun) in Serbian, and is derived from it's Lan name ‐ "Neoplanta".

Novi Sad is a typical Central European with architecture from 19th century dominang the city centre. In the 19th century, the city was the capital of Serbian , earning the nickname “Serbian Athens”. In that me, almost every Serbian novelist, poet, jurist, and publicist at the end of 19th century and at the beginning of 20th century had lived or worked in Novi Sad some me of his or her career. Novi Sad is the home to Maca Sprska, the oldest cultural‐ scienfic instuon in Serbia and the Serbian Naonal Theatre, the oldest professional theatre among the South Slavs. The largest educaonal instuon in the city is the University of Novi Sad with approximately 38000 students and 2700 staff. Novi Sad is the host to the EXIT music fesval, one of the major music fesvals in Europe.

At AYC we have a unique opportunity to influence Novi Sad in a way that will be remembered by it’s cizens. Let us gather in Novi Sad and join forces to celebrate our Lord and also be of service to the local community!

I have a question????

“What kind of accommodation will be available for the AYC participants in Novi Sad?” In Novi Sad there will be two kinds of accommodaon opons – student dormitories and floor space.

In the student dormitories parcipants will have a bed, bedding, pillows and pillow cases with access to bathrooms and showers. Towels are not included, so parcipants must bring their own. Most of the rooms in the student dormitories have two beds, with a small number of rooms having three beds. There are seven student dormitories, all within walking distance from SPENS, the furthest one being a 30 minutes walk away.

The second accommodaon opon is the floor space in the Novi Sad Fair. This accommodaon opon requires parcipants to bring their own maresses, sleeping bags/bedding, pillows and towels. This accommodaon also has access to bathrooms and showers.
