Sumner? Het is al een tijdje geleden dat we de “gospel” die Elvis zo graag zong nog eens in het zonnetje konden zet- ten. Tien jaar na het overlijden van J.D. Sumner krijgt deze droom terug waarheid. Elvis en J.D. waren hech- te vrienden voor het leven en al in zijn prille jeugd bezocht Elvis op een boogscheut van zijn ouderlijke huis het Ellis auditorium te Memphis waar steevast de jaarlijkse gospelconcerten plaatsvonden. Tot 1971 zouden hun wegen zich niet zo veel meer kruisen, de Jordanaires hadden immers een goede reputatie opgebouwd en Elvis zou deze groep dan ook dikwijls gebruiken bij vele studio-opnames in Nashville. Omdat the Jordanaires in 1969 niet mee op tournee Foto: een ontspannen J.D. Tickets: die kan u best op voorhand reserveren. U kan dan een tafeltje kiezen en opgeven met wie U wenst samen te zitten. Indien beschikbaar kan u ook op de dag van het concert nog tickets kopen. Heeft U geen eigen vervoer en is de trein te moeilijk? Een luxe-autocar brengt U vanaf volgende steden naar Knokke: Luik /Brussel / Hasselt / Antwerpen. Raadpleeg hierover onze pagina “Autocar”. De deuren van de zaal openen te 14 uur. U hebt dan voldoende tijd om rond te kuieren langs de Elvisboe- tiek of een drankje te nuttigen. Het showgedeelte zelf start te 16 uur en er is één pauze voorzien van 45 minuten. Het einde voorzien we omstreeks 20 uur. Zoals gewoonlijk worden tijdens de show drankjes geserveerd aan de tafels. Tijdens de pauze kan u voor een drankje of hapje terecht aan de bar of in café/restaurant Albert aan de zeedijk. De zangers en orkestleden die optreden zullen voorafgaandelijk het concert en tijdens de pauze beschik- baar zijn voor handtekeningen. Uiteraard brengen ze ook foto’s en CD’s mee. Wenst u al eerder naar de kust af te zakken op maandagavond, blijven tot woensdag of er een groot week- end van te maken?
