APPROPRIATE ATTIRE FOR TEEN COURT Inappropriate Attire Not Allowed in Teen Court: Shorts (Any Length) Ripped/Torn Jeans Short Skirts/Dresses Sweat Pants Hoodies Tank Tops Midriffs T-Shirts Flip Flops (Sandals Must Have Strap around Heel) Hats, Sunglasses Leon County Teen Court 301 South Monroe Street, 225 Tallahassee, Florida 32301 TEEN COURT DRESS CODE Teen Court strives to maintain a professional atmosphere. Please adhere to the following rules or you will not be given credit for attending: . NO Cell Phones or electronic media devices are to be used in the courtroom and phones must be OFF during proceedings. NO Shorts of any length (Capris are okay) . NO Hats . NO short skirts or dresses (2 inches above the knee is okay) . NO tank tops or bare shoulders. You will need a cover-up for court proceedings. NO shirts that expose your stomach or that are low cut . NO flip flops or slide-in shoes. Sandals MUST have a strap on the back. NO Sweatpants OR Torn Jeans . All pants will be worn at the waist—NO EXCEPTIONS The first time you are in violation of the dress code you will be given a warning. Anytime thereafter, you will lose credit for that evening. If in doubt---DON’T wear it! COURTROOM DEMEANOR . Treat others with respect at all times . Be polite to fellow jurors, participants and staff . No gum or candy is allowed in the courtroom . There shall be no talking during the proceedings . Show respect to the courtroom officials, especially the judge. Always stand to address the judge and refer to them as “Your Honor” . Use titles such as Mr., Mrs., Miss and always use last names. **This is an official court proceeding, please act accordingly** OATH OF CONFIDENTIALITY The importance of honoring the OATH OF CONFIDENTIALITY cannot be overstated. The business of appearing in any court is a very personal matter. All aspects of a Teen Court session are confidential. Failure to respect the following Oath will result in dismissal from participation in the Teen Court Program. The OATH of confidentiality below is required to be taken at the end of each Teen Court session by all in attendance. I solemnly affirm that I will not divulge, neither by words nor signs, any information or names which may be revealed to me in the course of a Teen Court session, and that I will keep secret all said proceedings from this day forward. .
