I profumi di un’isola in festa | Scents of a joyful island TERTENIA PRIMAVERA 18 . 19 maggio | maju | may 2019 nel cuore della Sardegna Città degli artisti TERTENIA Le prime tracce di insediamenti umani nel territorio di Tertenia risalgono al periodo Neolitico, come testimoniato da 77 nuraghi, 22 villaggi, 34 tombe dei giganti e un pozzo sacro. Tertenia è il paese più meridionale dell’Ogliastra e il suo territorio offre un affascinante connubio tra il mare e la montagna che, partendo dai Tacchi, si adagia sulla costa nelle bianche spiagge di Foxi Manna e Foxi Murdegu. Tertenia può vantare una grande predisposizione artistica da parte dei suoi abitanti. Tra i suoi illustri cittadini vi è uno degli artisti sardi che più si sono distinti in ambito nazionale e internazionale nel secolo scorso: Albino Manca, la cui opera di maggior rilievo è rappresentata dalla “Diving Eagle”, un’imponente scultura in bronzo, posizionata a Battery Park nell’isola di Manhattan a New York. L’opera fu inaugurata dal presidente statunitense J.F. Kennedy nel 1963. Numerose altre sue opere sono esposte nel Museo Civico di Tertenia a lui dedicato. Un’altra figura artistica di spicco del panorama artistico terteniese è quella di don Egidio Manca, cugino di Albino e sacerdote a Tertenia negli anni ‘50. Le sue opere si possono ammirare all’interno della chiesa di Tertenia e nel Museo Parrocchiale a lui dedicato. Tra gli altri artisti si ricordano anche Armando Demurtas, Ottavio Manca, Tommaso Loi e Gianni Manca. All’interno della Casa Comunale è invece allestita una pinacoteca permanente che vanta oltre 40 opere di artisti quali Antonio Corriga, Foiso Fois e Mario Delitala. The first traces of human settlements in Tertenia date back to the Neolithic period, as witnessed by 77 nuraghi, 22 villages, 34 giants’ tombs and a sacred well. Tertenia is the southernmost town of Ogliastra and its territory offers a fascinating combination of the sea and the mountains, which starting from the Tacchi rests on the coast in the white beaches of Foxi Manna and Foxi Murdegu. Tertenia can boast a great artistic tradition. Among its illustrious citizens there is one of the most famous Sardinian artists in the national and international sphere of the last century: Albino Manca, whose most important work is the “Diving Eagle”, an imposing bronze sculpture, located at Battery Park on the island of Manhattan in New York. The work was inaugurated by US President J.F. Kennedy in 1963. Numerous other works are exhibited in the Civic Museum of Tertenia dedicated to him. Another outstanding artistic figure in the Tertenian art scene is that of Don Egidio Manca, Albino’s cousin and priest in Tertenia in the 1950s. His works can be admired in the Church of Tertenia and in the Parish Museum dedicated to him. There are also other important artists such as Armando Demurtas, Ottavio Manca, Tommaso Loi and Gianni Manca.     Pier Virgilio Arrigoni The discovery of the Sardinian Flora (XVIII-XIX Centuries) Abstract Arrigoni, P. V.: The discovery of the Sardinian Flora (XVIII-XIX Centuries). — Bocconea 19: 7-31. 2006. — ISSN 1120-4060. The history of the floristic exploration of Sardinia mainly centres round the works of G.G. Moris, who in the first half of the XIX century described most of the floristic patrimony of the island. But it is important to know the steps he took in his census, the areas he explored, his publications, motivations and conditions under which he wrote the "Stirpium sardoarum elenchus" and the three volumes of "Flora sardoa", a work moreover which he left incomplete. Merit is due to Moris for bringing the attention of many collectors, florists and taxonomists to the Flora of the Island, individuals who in his foot-steps helped to complete and update the floristic inventory of the island. Research into the history of our knowledge of the Sardinian Flora relies heavily on the analysis of botanical publications, but many other sources (non- botanical texts, chronicles of the period, correspondence) also furnish important information. Finally, the names, dates and collection localities indicated on the specimens preserved in the most important herbaria were fundamental in reconstructing the itineraries of the sites Moris visited. All these sources allowed us to clarify several aspects of the expeditions, floristic col- lections and results of his studies. The "discovery phase" of Sardinian Flora can be considered over by the end of the XIX century with the publication of the "Compendium" by Barbey (1884-1885) and "Flora d'Italia" by Fiori & Paoletti (1896-1908).

(2) In 2004 a serious recrudescence of the disease has occurred in Sardinia. Italy has in relation with this recrudescence reviewed the measures so far taken to eradicate the disease, in the frame work of Directive 2002/60/EC.

[ Osini, Nuraghe Urceni [Guardians of an ancient civilisation, the nuraghi are captivating, unchanged over the course of time. The simple, yet brilliant, circular towers, constructed from large blocks of limestone or granite, were constructed in ancient times to defend the rugged and oceanic territory. Today they reveal the mysteries of a history that is shrouded in legend. The Giants' Tombs, imposing and perfectly aligned with the sun, hide the indecipherable secrets of one of the world's most unique cultures; where reality challenges your imagination. To celebrate liberation from evil serpents and dragons and in praise and thanks of the patron saint, many festivals take place in which entire towns participate. Women prepare wonderful, sculpture-like desserts and the men throw themselves into bold demonstrations of bravery. The history of this region is steeped in tradition, where art and craftsmanship often become one: weavings, for example, recount a history whose memory has faded into the mists of time. Since ancient times, many craftsmen have been plying their trade in the working of raw wool for the production of colourful carpets or the traditional and time- honoured bridal trousseaus.

L'estensione geografica dell'Ogliastra nell'antichità Crediamo sia opportuno definire preliminarmente, anche da un punto di vista metodologico, quello che appare come il problema fondamentale relativo alla romanizzazione dell'Ogliastra, cioè l'e­ stensione geografica del territorio ogliastrino in età romana, ap­ profondendo il quadro fornito dieci anni fa da Raimondo Zucca sul secondo numero degli Studi ogliastrini l: i confini territoriali pos­ sono essere precisati in rapporto con la rete stradale, in relazione con le vallate dei fiumi che si incontrano a partire dal Flumendosa, ma soprattutto tenendo conto dell' orografia, che separa sicura­ mente Baunei da Dorgali, Fonni da Villagrande ed Arzana, Esterzili da Jerzu. Non possediamo purtroppo miliari stradali di età impe­ riale (che comunque in Sardegna sembrano tutti collocati per ini­ ziativa del governo provinciale, senza coinvolgere le città interes­ sate) né iscrizioni con l' onomastica completa di personaggi per i quali sia indicata la tribù di appartenenza: ciò avrebbe potuto forse consentire di dimostrare la dipendenza amministrativa dal consiglio municipale della capitale Karales oppure in alternativa l'autonomia * Si riproduce, con alcuni aggiornamenti, il testo letto ad Jerzu in occasione del Convegno «L'Ogliastra. Chiara Murgia quale Responsabile del servizio amministrativo dell’Unione dei comuni “La Valle del Pardu e dei Tacchi”; PREMESSO che in data 11.09.2008, ai sensi dell’art. 32 del T.U. sull’ordinamento degli EE.LL. e art. 3 della L.R. 2 Agosto 2005, n. 12, tra i Comuni di Osini, Ulassai, Jerzu, Gairo, Cardedu, Tertenia e Perdasdefogu è stato stipulato l’Atto Costitutivo dell’Unione dei Comuni con la denominazione “Valle del Pardu e dei Tacchi – Ogliastra meridionale”, al fine di potenziare lo svolgimento in forma congiunta di una pluralità di funzioni, ai sensi del’art. 32 del T.U. degli EE.LL., e conseguentemente garantire alla comunità facente parte dell’Unione una più elevata qualità dei relativi servizi; PRESO ATTO che, ai sensi dell’art. 1 comma 3 dello Statuto, l’Unione dei comuni “Valle del Pardu e dei Tacchi – Ogliastra meridionale” ha istituito la propria sede legale nel Comune di Osini; CONSIDERATO che nel Piano degli interventi relativi ai fondi per la montagna annualità 2008, L.R.
