She has a vast repertoire of creative abilities, which allows for many learning opportunities for the children. She showed and enjoyment in her teaching. Mrs. Peck will help cultivate in the children a lifetime of learning, being creative, and appreciating art!” – Susan Burk “She was a really great teacher! I thought her tips for painting were really useful and it was a lot of fun learning new art skills.” – Emily Burk

F.A.Q.

1. Do I need to bring any art supplies? All supplies will be provided!

2. What should my child wear? Painting clothes or clothes your children don’t mind getting messy would be most-appropriate, but we will provide a cover-up to protect their clothing regardless.

3. What should I expect my child to learn in painting? You can expect your child to learn the basics of drawing realistic subjects, good composition, color mixing, color theory (primary, secondary, complementary colors, etc.), and technical art terms (tonal shift, wash, wet-on-wet, wet- on-dry, etc.). You can also expect them to be encouraged about their artistic ability and growth; they will probably want to do art all the time.

4. What should I expect my child to learn in drawing? You can expect your child to learn how to translate the things they see around them onto paper. They will learn how to see the contours of objects, negative space, perspective, good composition, shading techniques and portrait drawing. You’ll wish you could take the class too.

5. Will my child get to take home their artwork? Absolutely! They will take home artwork they have completed at the end of each class.
