Thank you for your 03/05/17 request for the following information:

Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to request information about the cost to in- patients of the television and personal entertainment offered on wards at each of the hospitals for which you are responsible.

1. Please state, on wards where television use is offered, whether or not in-patients are charged for its use. Answer: Yes.

2. If so please outline what rate is offered to in-patients (how much they pay for its use, eg £3 per hour). Answer: Please see charging sheet overleaf.

3. Please state whether or not they need to purchase a card to charge with funds, and if so, please state whether a refund is offered should the in-patient not use all their card 'credit'. Answer: There are two ways to buy the service:  On their credit card; if a patient is discharged early then they have the facility to get a refund credited onto their credit card.  By purchasing a charge card; if a patient is discharged early and the card has been part used then they do not have a facility for a refund. If they have not used the card then there is a facility to be refunded.

4. Please state whether or not this service is supplied to the NHS by a private provider. Answer: Private provider.

5. Please name the private provider. Answer: Hospedia Ltd.

There are 23 TV Channels and 75 Movies. There are 5 free radio channels. Sky sports from £5 per day.
