Given the unprecedented moment we’re in, the Stinson/Bolinas Community Fund recently opted to forgo its usual Spring round of small grants in favor of giving several larger grants to people and organizations in Bolinas & Stinson directly assisting those adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bolinas Community Land Trust - $4000 - to pay staff administering BCLT’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund
Love Dogs for Life - $400 - for pet food and vet bill assistance for local residents in need
Bolinas Community Center - $4000 - for stipends to the three volunteers coordinating twice-weekly food box distribution
West Marin Senior Services - $1200 - to provide support for family caregivers
Stinson's Parkside Cafe - $1500 - which has been distributing daily free dinners to Stinson residents who need them for the past 6 weeks.
In part, the award letter to the Parkside Cafe read, "There are so many people in the Stinson Beach community who have been nurtured by you…this past month. No one told you to do this. There were no government grants involved. Simply the recognition of the power of generosity and love. Your shining example of what we are all capable of but few actually do is something that should be known and recognized everywhere." These same words could be applied to each of our 5 grantees, to whom we give our deepest appreciation.
