A police diver has disappeared in the River Seine, close to the famous Notre Dame cathedral, during a training exercise. The young female diver vanished on Image: Paris' Sapeurs-Pompiers spent most of Friday searching for the Friday morning in the river, swollen after diver days of rain brought by Storm Eleanor. A massive search operation has been launched involving 25 divers, more than 100 emergency workers, a team of police officers and a helicopter. The teams have been using heat-seeking cameras and set up a cordon around part of the river in the centre of Paris, but bad weather and tough conditions forced them to suspend their search for the night. Il y a une cinquantaine d'années, les champs de blé et de betteraves ont laissé place à des immeubles. « Nous allons parcourir Évry pour comprendre ce qu'il s'est passé il y a environ un demi-siècle », glisse en préambule, Edwige Auger, conférencière nationale. Autour d'elle, une dizaine de participants écoutent attentivement ses explications. En cet après-midi estival, la visite qu'elle anime débute aux Pyramides, l'un des quartiers d'Evry-Courcouronnes. Comme chaque mardi, jusqu'au 25 août, l'agglomération Grand Paris Sud et l'office du tourisme proposent une déambulation gratuite dans les rues de cette commune pour découvrir son histoire. « On va notamment se demander comment on construit une ville au XXe siècle et comment celle-ci s'est développée », détaille la guide. « Qu'est-ce qu'une ville pour vous ? » Tout commence dans les années 1950-1960.
