Mature of Goldspur® reach about 15 feet (5 m) in height with a 9 foot (3 m) spread; about half of that for typical Prunus maackii seedlings. Creamy white spring produce compact racemes of tiny black in summer. Goldspur’s golden exfoliating bark is a desirable winter feature. ______Culture: Grows best in full sunlight or partial shade. Prefers well drained, medium textured soils with adequate moisture. ______Pest and Disease: No problems; resistant to black knot. ______Landscape Value: Excellent compact ornamental in residential plantings, particularly where an upright growth habit and reduced spread are required. ______Propagation: Goldspur® is available CVI from tissue culture by Agri-Forest Biotechnologies.
