Dr. Venu spoke about the ‘potential’ that exists in tourism sector with respect to Kerala Tourism and Calicut in particular. The readiness to invest in tourism projects and the patience to nurture was not visible in the investors from Calicut which is not the case as in Wayanad. He said, CMA should intervene and study the problems that exists in this sector and help out investors to be more professional and mentor them to withstand pressure and be successful. Professor Keyoor Purani said, it is again the lack of professional approach which has caused the slow growth of tourism in Calicut. The economy which is largely depended on foreign remittance has created large number of spoiled children who wants to live in the comforts of remittance. There should be a change to this attitude.
