Membership in the League is open to men and women of all ages. The LWV is one of America's most trusted organizations with 100 years of experience, 26 local Leagues throughout Connecticut, and 850 local and state affiliates nationwide. The Stamford LWV was established in June 1921. The original grassroots citizen network, local Leagues are directed by the consensus of its members. Absentee Ballots: Call the Town Clerk 203 977 5280 or email [email protected] PRIMARY: August 11, 2020 Due to COVID-19 the Governor’s Executive order changes the availability of Absentee Ballots – requests for applications have been mailed out by the CT Secretary of State – contact the Town Clerk’s office for an application. Registration Deadline: 5th day before the primary if registering online or by mail. By 12 p.m. on the last business day before the primary if registering in person. GENERAL ELECTION: November 3, 2020 Due to COVID-19 there maybe pending legislation for changes in the Absentee Ballot application process which will be determined by a Special Legislative Session. Registration Deadline: 14th day before the election if registering online or by mail or if registering in person,by the 7th day before the election. Please note: If a Voter is registered with a party and, they want to change parties, they must do so 3 months prior to an election. If they are unaffiliated they can change to a party affiliation 7 days in person at registrar's office. Connecticut now offers Election Day Registration. If you miss the registration deadline, you can register and vote in person on Election Day at the Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd, Stamford, CT.
