22.1 ADVERTISING SECTION 42 PHASE IIA CONSULTATION
22.2 Introduction 1. This appendix contains details of how the Phase IIa Public Information Days (PIDs) to consult on the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) were advertised.
22.3 Advertising in the Press 2. Section 48 Notices combined with the details of how to access the PEIR were published in the following Newspapers:
The Times;
London Gazette;
Lloyds List;
Fishing News;
East Anglian Daily Times (two editions);
Eastern Daily Press (two editions); and
Ipswich Star (two editions);
3. Dates of these publications are presented in Table 7.1 of the Consultation Report and evidence of the published notices are provided below. Evidence of the Section 48 Notices in the National papers (The Times, London Gazette and the Lloyds list) are displayed in Appendix 24 of the Consultation Report.
4. For the Local newspapers (East Anglian Daily Times, East Anglian Daily Press and the Ipswich star) and for Fishing News the Section 48 Notice informing of the PEIR consultation was combined with adverts for the Phase IIa PIDs. The original advert as provided by EATL along with Evidence of these adverts as published in the above papers is provided below.
5. Furthermore to the advert being placed in local and national newspapers it was also included on the ReNews website (http://renews.biz/67305/triple-time-at-east- anglia) on the 28th May 2014 (see below).

22.4 Advertising to Parish Councils 8. The consultation consultancy Eastern Edge were assisted for distributing the advert to the relevant publications and websites. Table 22.1 below contains all the

22.5.2 Alderton 11. Eastern Edge were informed that Alderton do not have a regular parish magazine but they do have a one-sheet village information letter that comes out about 3-4 times a year. It was communicated that if the next TAP (The Alderton Post) was produced prior to the dates of the PIDs the advert would be included.
22.5.3 Ramsholt 12. Eastern Edge made a number of unsuccessful attempts to contact Ramsholt Parish Council by phone and email, however as there was no response a printed A4 copy of the notice was posted to the council with a request that it be posted on the parish board.

22.5.4 Kirton and Falkenham 13. The advert was placed on the Kirton and Falkenham Parish council website and the on the Kirton and Falkenham village website (village pump blog), evidence of both is provided below.

22.5.5 Hemley 14. Eastern Edge attempted to contact etc……… As no there was not reposnce to emails or phone calls a printed A4 copy of the notice was posted to the council with a request that it be posted on the parish board.
22.5.6 Newbourne 15. During the time of the consultation the Newborune parish website was being revamped and therefore it was not possible for the advert to be displayed.
22.5.7 Waldringfield 16. The advert was published in the June Waldringfield Parish Newsletter which is also available online at http://waldringfield.onesuffolk.net/assets/News/Village- Magazines/Waldringfield-Newsletter-v2-June-2014.pdf. Eastern Edge also signed up to the Waldringfield enews network. This was used to advertise the Phase IIa PIDs, evidence of the emails which were circulated around the group is provided below.

22.5.8 Martlesham 17. To ensure that the Phase IIa PIDs advert was widely published within the Parish of Martelsham, the advert was placed on the Parish Council Website, the Martlesham Monthly magazine (which also has an publishes each edition on its website), the Parish Magazine and in the Martlesham Intouch publication (both May and June editions), evidence of these is provided below.

22.5.9 Woodbridge 18. A request for the advert to be displayed on the town council website and in the town magazine and the intouch publication. EATL were informed that Woodbridge did not have a town magazine however the advert was displayed on the Woodbridge town council website and was published in the intouch magazine examples evidence of these is provided below.

22.5.10 Great Bealings 19. The Phase IIa PIDs advert was places on the Great Bealings village website, which is linked to the Parish council website. Furthermore the PEIR advert was the placed in The Benefice newsletter which is distributed to Great Bealings, Little Bealings, Playford and Culpho.

22.5.11 Little Bealings The advert was placed on the Little Bealings council

22.5.12 Culpho 20. The Benifice magazine for Great Bealings St. Mary (see image above), is also circulated in Little Bealings All Saints, Playford St. Mary and Culpho St. Botolph. Despite the attempts of Eastern Edge to ensure that the notice was displayed in the Culpho Parish Magazine and in the enews group publication, this was not achieved.
22.5.13 Playford 21. The Notice was placed on the website (evidence provided below) and the notice was also displayed on the village notice board.

22.5.22 Burstall 29. A letter, the mailing list of which was taken from the electoral roll, was sent to all the residents of Burstall. The letter provided details of the Phase IIa PIDs and how to view and consult on the PEIR. A copy of this letter is provided below. For reasons of confidentiality it is not possible to publish a mailing list.

22.5.23 Sproughton 30. The PEIR advert was placed in the Sproughton village website and in the Intouch newsletters for May and June, evidence of these is provided below.

22.5.24 Flowton 31. The Phase IIa PIDs advert was placed on the village website (see below) and attempts were made to include the advert in the Flowton Flyer which is an additional information sheet that is included within the Flowton monthly magazine for anything that missed the printing deadline. However, it was not considered by the publishers that there was enough material to justify printing the Flowton Flyer for the PIDs advert. As the advert was not printed in the flowton flyer the advert was printed in “The Link” which is a monthly magazine which covers Flowton as well as Offton, Willisham and Somersham.

22.5.25 The Link Newsletter 32. The Advert was printed in the Link Newsletter which covers Offton, Willisham, Somersham and Flowton Parish. A scan of this publication is provided below.

22.6 Informing councillors 33. In the weeks leading up to the PIDs councillors at all Parish councils within the vicinity of the cable route were emailed with the following notice which for many was to remind them of the PIDs and the PEIR consultation in general.

This email was sent to councillors at: Kirton and Falkenham parish Council, Suffolk Coastal Parish Council, Tuddenham St. Martin Parish Council, Swilland and Witnesham Parish Council, Grundisburgh & Culpho Parish Council, Martlesham Parish Council, Ramsholt Parish Council, Bawdsey Parish Council, Alderton Parish Council, Westerfield Parish Council, Newbourne Parish Council, Waldringfield Parish Council, Playford Parish council, Little Bealings Parish Council, Little Bealings Parish Council, Great Bealings Parish Council, Woodbridge Town Council, Akenham Parish Meeting, Bramford Parish Council, Little Blakenham Parish Council, Claydon and Whitton Parish Council, Burstall Parish Council, Hintlesham and Chattisham Parish Council, Copdock and Washbrook Parish Council, Sproughton Parish Council and Flowton Parish Meeting.
