LOVEBOX DECK 2014.Pdf “There is no greater advert for London as a creative, multicultural, party-loving city than Lovebox” - The Times Overview Introduction Lovebox is London’s own festival. Over the past 11 years, it has been embraced by the capital’s most stylish and influential party people and cemented it’s place at the heart of London’s bristling social summer calendar. No festival better captures the inclusiveness and multicultural beauty that London represents or the cultural breadth and depth that makes London first among its worldwide City equals. A dozen summers since it first set sail on Clapham Common, 2014 heralds a new chapter in the ever-evolving story of Lovebox. From Roxy Music to Snoop Dogg, from the music of Manu Chao to the flamboyance of Florence and the Machine, Victoria Park has hosted a decade of sun-drenched shows under the Lovebox banner. This coming July, Lovebox is being joined by Secret Productions (co-organisers of Wilderness and Secret Garden Party 2009-2013). In doing so, a larger family is being built to choreograph a new creative vision for Lovebox 2014. Now spanning two days, an urban revival is once again on its way. Lovebox is returning as a true celebration of festival culture, right in the heart of the City. Demographic Demographic Core - 18–35 Fans of all genres of live music who also enjoy going to clubs, gigs and festivals with friends, highly engaged with technology, media savvy, with an interest in arts and culture ABC1/B2 Male/ Female: 50% / 50% Total attendance 2013 – 70,000 Location Victoria Park boasts a perfect location, set between Bethnal Green, Hackney and Bow, three of the capital’s most socially dynamic and creative quarters. The naturally beautiful space provides both the open expanses for that festival party rush and the hidden corners of calm which define Lovebox as a true festival experience in the heart of London. Site build and event management is provided by industry leaders ensuring unblemished operational systems, safety and security for this large scale event. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BENNY L SCORES BEATPORT’S FIRST-EVER DRUM & BASS NO. 1 BERLIN, DE - January 17, 2019 - London-based DJ and producer Benny L has made Beatport history with the first-ever Drum & Bass track to reach No. 1 on the store’s overall Top 100. Released January 11, exclusively on Beatport, Benny L’s remix of the John Holt reggae classic ‘Police In Helicopter’ swiftly hit No. 1 in Drum & Bass. From there, it climbed to the overall No. 1 spot, leading a Top 10 otherwise dominated by Beatport’s various house and techno genres. The genre’s first-ever Beatport No. 1 comes via London’s long-running Hospital Records as part of its ‘Sick Music 2019’ series, which also features releases from scene luminaries such as London Elektricity, Fred V and Logistics. Benny L, whose releases have previously appeared on labels like Metalheadz and AudioPorn Records, won Best Newcomer at the recent Drum&BassArena Awards. His ‘Police In Helicopter’ remix started life as a much in-demand dubplate, which he shared with only a select few peers. After building steam in the sets of bass heavyweights last summer, its official release was keenly anticipated by DJs. "Hospital hit me up about doing a remix for a forthcoming project and ‘Police In Helicopter’ was on the list, so I went for it,” Benny L explained to Beatport. “It all came together pretty quickly, and I was very happy with the mixdown.” “Even after a few months, the reaction was incredible, with DJs such as Randall, Shy FX, Andy C and Friction playing it,” he added.

An intense relationship forms between the two which could change Johnny’s life forever. Long Synopsis Spring. Yorkshire. • De Elektrificatie Van De Ruimte. Over De Stedelijke Kadans

Traditionally, the purposefulness and relevance of a singer-songwriter were defined by something unique in their lyrical acumen, vocal skills and/or guitar or piano accompaniment. In the 1990s this paradigm was tested by the trend towards larger orchestrastion and towards electronic orchestration. In the 2000s it became harder and harder to give purpose and meaning to a body of work mostly relying on the message. Many singer-songwriters of the 2000s belonged to "Generation X" but sang and wrote for members of "Generation Y". Since "Generation Y" was inherently different from all the generations that had preceeded it, it was no surprise that the audience for these singer-songwriters declined. Since the members of "Generation X" were generally desperate to talk about themselves, it was not surprising that the number of such singer- songwriters increased. The net result was an odd disconnect between the musician and her or his target audience. The singer-songwriters of the 2000s generally sounded more "adult" because... they were.

  • Patrick Wolf & the Magic Position Message Points
Patrick Wolf & the Magic Position Message Points The Magic Position is very light-hearted compared to my previous two albums, which dealt with pressing issues such as rape and abuse. I am classically trained on the piano, violin, and viola. I also self-taught myself to play the harp, harpsichord, organ, Theremin, accordion and ukulele. For the Magic Position I’ve learned many new instruments to add to my already impressive assortment. I have my largest tour, to date, planned for 2007. I will have a full tour in both the United States and Australia for the first time. For the Magic Position tour, I’m using the aid of a band, which is something I’ve personally never had before. One of the members is my sister and fellow London musician, Jo Apps. I have once again changed my hair color to match the mood that I’m hoping the Magic Position evokes. Lycanthropy, 2003 Wind in the Wires, 2005 The Magic Position, 2007 The Magic Position is my very first album with Loog Records, which is a subsidiary of recording giant Polydor. The first single off of the Magic Position was Accident & Emergency, which was released in September of 2006. The next The Magic Position Track-list single is going to be the title track and will 1. Hip hop and rap may be an American import, but Britain’s MCs have married it to musical styles such as electronica, garage and underground grime to create new genres of their own. Artists such as Mercury Award-winner Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, Roots Manuva and Sway have imprinted the UK charts with their beats and rhymes. Just one example of a musical style which has originated in the UK is drum and bass (or ‘d&b’). The electronic dance music, which originated in the UK, combines fast broken beat drums with a strong bassline and has had an influence on popular music the world over.
