Miep Gies

Introduction Today, I’m going to talk about Miep Gies, who helped Anne Frank and her

family hide from the Nazis. Do you know who Anne Frank is? She was a Jewish teenager who went into hiding to escape from the Nazis during World

War II, and also the author of The Diary of a Young Girl. Body Gies was born in Austria and raised in the Netherlands. She had worked for Miep Gies Anne’s father, and wanted to help her Jewish friends. For over two years, she

and her husband risked their own lives to provide the Franks with food and daily supplies. On August 4, 1944, the Franks were caught by the Nazis and taken to the concentration camps. Gies saved Anne’s diary until after the war ended. Conclusion Before she passed away in 2010, she said that she had done nothing special. However, without her courage and efforts, we would never have been able to read Anne’s diary. She DID do something special!
