Thanks to Stephen Coate for running a profitable golf day. Thank you to Katrina Gallway and Len Haddrill for your efforts organising and running functions. A special thanks to Dan Posch who took Sponsorship for the Club mid-season. I’m sure Dan will be better equipped to increase sponsorship income in 2016. Sponsorship is the biggest contributor to the Clubs fundraising revenue. To all sponsors, particularly Dixon Advisory, Monaro Windows, Affinity Electrical and Club Lime, thank you for your continued support. We appreciate the generosity of all sponsors and look forward to having you on board again in 2016.

The Sports Club offered great support during the year. Thank you to Andrew Smith, Nick Condell, Stephen Oh, Marie Bartlett and Ray Baguley for your assistance. We look forward to working with the new General Manager, Andrew Hunter, to maintain the close relationship built between both clubs over time.

2016 is a time to focus fully on our own Club to ensure we have the required resources to continue on field success, develop the UC Magpies and our juniors and to be profitable for the future.

Special thankyou to Scott Reid, Jo Foster, Terri Jamieson, Michael Price and the rest of the Belconnen Board for giving me the opportunity to start a career in the sporting industry. It has been a continuous learning experience and I believe I will continue to learn and develop and implement the things I am learning on a daily basis. Thank you for all your help and support throughout this journey thus far, and I personally look forward to continuing to work with all of you.

I would really like to thank the many volunteers for their numerous hours and support put in to the football club throughout the duration of the season. As mentioned time and time again, football clubs would not work without the continued support of volunteers, and we have fantastic volunteers involved with our club. I should also thank the many Belconnen Magpies Sponsors for without them, like the volunteers, the AFL club doesn’t exist.

In closing I would like to thank all the coaches,

Having our local AFL resident player, Heather Anderson, based in Darwin for the 2nd half of the year took the edge off the trainings but we thank her for returning for as many games as she could squeeze in and congratulate her on her AFL performances throughout the season.

Club Matches

Players who have over the years achieved 100 games in NEAFL, Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 or Women’s are awarded a pewter. The pewter is struck at the end of the season in which a player reaches the milestone, and is presented to him or her at the annual 100 Game Dinner. Belconnen tradition demands that members of the 100 Club gather at the function, ceremoniously open the cabinet where the pewters are kept, and drink a toast to welcome the newcomers. In 2015, there were four current player inductee; Ben Power, Rory Markham, Ciaran Doolan and Dom Bunyan. Congratulations to them all.
