Introduction 1. The Military Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (MilPHEM) conference will take place on 10 May 17 at DMS Whittington, Staffordshire. The conference is open to Military and MoD civilian personnel from any specialty or professional group involved in the provision of pre-hospital care, whether on operations or in the civilian environment. Venue 2. a. Main Conference Venue will be the Raffaelli Lecture Theatre. Refreshments and exhibitor stands will be available within the complex. A map of the area and travel information is included in Annex’s A & B. The full address for the venue is: Defence Medical Services Whittington Lichfield Staffordshire, WS14 9PY b. Registration commences at 0930hrs, delegates are to be seated for first presentation at 1000hrs. Accommodation 3. a. Request for accommodation should be made via the Eventbrite registration page. Duty charges apply and should be paid prior to departure. b. Keys will be available from the Guardroom or relevant Mess on arrival. Any out of hour’s issues with accommodation are to be directed to the Duty SNCO/Officer via the Main Guardroom. Expenditure & Messing 4. The conference costs £10.00 per person. A buffet style lunch and refreshments are included in the price of the ticket and will be available in the atrium outside the lecture theatre. 5. Delegates who have acquired accommodation can use respective messes for breakfasts and dinner on a Pay As You Dine (PAYD) basis. Travel & Subsistence (T&S) 6. Delegates and presenters are entitled to T&S, line manager and local unit authority is to be granted prior to registration. Dress 7. All Military personnel are to be in uniform. Dress for the conference is No 2 SD (RAF); No 3 General Duty Dress (Navy); PCS MTP (Army). Discipline 8. Attendance at the conference is duty and normal discipline/courtesies will apply. Therefore behaviour both during and outside the conference hours is expected to be exemplary. Parking 9. There is ample parking by the front gate, no vehicles are allowed on the main camp. Please allow 10 minutes to walk to the Raffaelli Theatre from the car park. Points of Contact 10. Directions from M42: leave M42 at J10 and follow signs towards the A5 and Lichfield. At 3rd Junction follow signs for Tamworth and then follow signs for Hopwas and Lichfield (A51). This road continues past the camp which is in the right hand side. Directions from M6 North: Follow directions to M42 then directions as above. Directions from M6 South: Heading south on the M6 leave at J12 and follow the A5 towards Tamworth, Brownhills and Rugeley. Stay on the A5 (ignoring signs for Lichfield A461). At roundabout follow sign for A38. On A38 take 1st slip road sign posted A5206. Turn left at roundabout onto the A5206 Lichfield. At Shell Garage/traffic lights turn right onto the A51, which takes you to the DMS (W), situated on the left hand side of the road. Do not take the turning into the village of Whittington. By plane: Birmingham International Airport 26.4 km/ 16.4 miles East Midlands Airport 37.1 km / 23 miles Manchester airport 121 km/ 74.5 miles By train: The nearest railway stations are Lichfield Trent Valley stations, Lichfield City and Tamworth. Trains run to Birmingham New Street from Lichfield City and Tamworth and to London Euston from Lichfield Trent Valley. There is a taxi rank located outside of the station building.
