Incoming students are increasingly well- qualified. Average high school GPA for the most recent incoming freshman class was 3.56 and average ACT score was 23.9, surpassing both state and national aver- ages. UTC student athletes excel in the classroom and in competition, with more than 150 student-athletes making the Ath- letics Director’s Honor Roll.

Incentives and an emphasis on experiential learning were launched in the 2012-2013 academic year and, today, 75 percent of all graduates leave UTC following a college career that included experiential learning courses, extracurricular opportunities or service-learning.

Both intercollegiate and intramural athletics saw new facilities open in 2018. A $1.5-mil- lion Mocs Tennis Center was dedicated in October, followed by the opening of a Dr. Angle with former Moc Terrell Owens following his induction speech into the Pro Football Hall of Fame at McKenzie Arena on Aug. 4, 2018.

In the classroom, UTC set a new mark with a 3.178 overall GPA in the spring of 2019, the sec- ond record-setting term in a row. Chattanooga also saw a school-record 71 student-athletes earn degrees in the 2018-19 academic year. The Mocs set new school records with 78 on the various Academic All-SoCon teams, 185 on the SoCon Honor Roll and 28 with a 4.0 GPA for the 2018-19 season. UTC’s student-athlete gradu- ation rate also grew to 84%, an all-time high for Mocs Athletics. On the fundraising front, Wharton implemented the One Chattanooga program, which will gener- ate $1 million in unrestricted support. In addition, the Mocs Club recorded a record $1.2 million in annual giving during the 2018-19 academic year. Another of his innovations to drive fan engage- ment was the creation of the Fan Council. This 12-person committee exists to provide feedback and guidance in the areas of External Operations, as it relates to fan experience and gameday en- hancements. The goal is to help improve engage- ment with the community and constituencies of all Mocs athletics programs. In competition, wrestling and softball both won Southern Conference titles in 2018-19, while Mark Wharton was hired as Vice Chancellor & Director of Athletics on Aug. 23, 2017.

CALLING ALL FORMER LETTERWINNERS SIGN UP TODAY

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Mocs Club, re-established a letter winners organization, connecting with former student-athletes, cheerleaders, managers, trainers and coaches. The C Club was relaunched with the purpose of promoting life-long bonds and friendships among its members and UTC Athletics.

All former Mocs invested immeasurable time and energy into building a tradition of success in the class- room, in competition and in the community. Members of the C Club continue to serve as ambassadors for Mocs Athletics, while strengthening relationships with their alma mater.

Initial membership in the C Club is free for all former letter winners for the first year. To sign up for the C Club, visit GoMocs.com or MocsClub.com, and look for the C Club logo. If you are a former Moc, be sure to share that page on social media and let as many of your teammates know about the return of this organization.

Benefits of the C Club include everything that comes with a Mocs Club membership at the Starter Level. Other perks include a year-long pass that is good for one GA ticket to any regular season home contest at UTC, invitations to semi-annual events held throughout the year, the opportunity to network with for- mer student-athletes and members of the UTC Athletics family and periodic e-newsletters and updates from the Director of the C Club.

For questions, contact the Mocs Club at (423) 425-5866 ([email protected]).
