Topical Areas within the survey include: Ticket price students are willing to pay Genres that students want to see Artists/Bands that student have seen and want to see This online survey was initiated on January 20, 2012, and was closed on February 3, 2012. Three Thousand emails were sent out to Eastern Illinois University students. Of those contacted to participate in the online survey, 252(8.4%) initiated the survey, while 176 (5.9%) students completed the survey. Survey Results What is the Maximum ticket price you are willing to spend on a major concert artist/event at EIU? *(Table 1) Student participants responded with a range from $2-$150. 60% of student responses fell between $20-$30 Mean = $29.47 Median = $25 Favorite Genre After applying weighted influence to the ranked selection of favorite genre of music, the following results presented themselves. *(Chart 1) 23.7% selected Hip Hop/Rap 18.3% selected Pop 14.7% selected Alternative 13.5% selected Country 12.5% selected Rock/ Punk Rock 12.0% selected RB 5.4% selected Other Major Concerts per Year Student participant responses ranged from 0-20 major concerts attended in the past year.
