Ports play an important role in China's economic development. Therefore, improving the competitiveness of coastal ports is an urgent problem facing the society at present. This paper selects 12 relevant indexes to establish a relatively comprehensive evaluation index system, and uses factor analysis and cluster analysis to evaluate and rank the competitiveness of China's 30 major coastal ports. 1. Introduction Port is the gathering point and hub of water and land transportation, the distribution center of import and export of industrial and agricultural products and foreign trade products, and the important node of logistics. With the continuous innovation of transportation mode and the rapid development of science and technology, ports play an increasingly important role in driving the economy, with increasingly rich functions and more important status and role. Meanwhile, the competition among ports is also increasingly fierce. In recent years, with the rapid development of China's economy and the promotion of "the Belt and Road Initiative", China's coastal ports have also been greatly developed. China has more than 18,000 kilometers of coastline, with superior natural conditions. With the introduction of the policy of reformation and opening, the human conditions are also excellent. -

From the records of the coroner's court held in Hoboken, N. J., November, 1879, it appears that the Lehigh, which exploded in that city on the 28th of October, 1879, killing the engineer and fireman, was a passenger locomotive that had been remodeled in 1874. at which time the boiler was new. It had been in constant service, except while undergoing slight repairs, since May, 1874, on the Morris & Essex division of the D., L. & W. R. R. It was rebuilt under the direction of the master mechanic of the division, and was stayed in an extraordinary manner, having over fifty sling stays from the arch of the wagon top to the crown bars of the furnace, arranged in four rows, set as near radial to the arch as prac- ticable, Figs. 1 and 2. There were also hori- zontal cross stays from side to side of the shell between the crown bars, one to about every 5£ inches, and the crown bars were spaced the same distance apart, and consisted each of two broad parallel bars seated edgewise on the edge of the side plates of the furnaces and^ecured to the crown sheet by bolts, washers, and gibbs in the usual manner. (STL) CHAPTER 7. ADDITIONAL STUDIES This Chapter provides the details about the Quantitative Risk Assessment and emergency plan as proposed for the proposed project. 7.1. Introduction Industrial plants deal with materials, which are generally hazardous in nature by virtue of their intrinsic chemical properties or their operating temperatures or pressures or a combination of these. Fire, explosion, toxic release or combinations of these are the hazards associated with industrial plants using hazardous chemicals. More comprehensive, systematic and sophisticated methods of Safety Engineering, such as, Hazard Analysis and Quantitative Risk Assessment have now been developed to improve upon the integrity, reliability and safety of industrial plants. The primary emphasis in safety engineering is to reduce risk to human life, property and environment. Some of the more important methods used to achieve this are • Quantitative Risk Analysis: Provides a relative measure of the likelihood and severity of various possible hazardous events by critically examining the plant process and design. • Work Safety Analysis: The technique discerns whether the plant layout and operating procedures in practice have any inherent infirmities. • Safety Audit: Takes a careful look at plant operating conditions, work practices and work environments to detect unsafe conditions Together, these three broad tools attempt to minimize the chances of accidents occurring. Yet, there always exists, no matter how remote, probability of occurrence of a major accident. If the accident involves highly hazardous chemicals in sufficiently large quantities, the consequences may be serious to the plant, to surrounding areas and the populations residing therein. -

HARTFORD, CONK, JANUARY, 1883. No. 1. Upright Boiler for Heating Water. The boiler which we illustrate below is not for generating steam, but for heating water. It was designed by Mr. J. M. Allen, for the purpose of supplying hot water to EAONT ELEVATION SECTION laundry, bath-rooms, and wash-bowls, in a large public institution. It is made of ^ inch iron, riveted up in the same manner as an ordinal^ vertical boiler. It sets upon a brick or cast iron base, in which is the ash pit. The grate is of the ordinary hot air furnace 78606 — THE LOCOMOTIVE. [January, pattern, and can be easily shaken or " dumped." The furnace is small, as compared with the size of the boiler, being only 18 inches in diameter. The boiler is 36 inches diameter. This gives water legs, or water safes of about 9 inches. The door frame and mouth are flanged on to the boiler shell and furnace sheets. The smoke pipe or " out-take " is smaller, but attached in the same way. This hot water boiler can be set up anywhere, near a chimney. A common sheet iron stove pipe being all that is neces- sary to connect it with the chimney. It has three hand-holes, just above the bottom head for facility of cleaning. There is a man-hole on top, also a safety valve, and supply and PLAN SECTION ON a.h feed pipes. -
Briefing on the Beaufort's Dyke in the Irish Sea – an Environmental and Radiation Dumping Ground and a Nuclear Submarine Training Area I

Overview of Policy Briefing This edition of the NFLA Radioactive Waste Policy has been developed for the NFLA Secretariat by independent marine radioactivity consultant Tim Deere-Jones following a request from councillors attending the most recent meeting of the NFLA All Ireland Sustainable Energy Forum. Independent marine radioactivity consultant Tim Deere-Jones had provided a presentation on a ‘near-miss’ incident between a large passenger and car ferry and a nuclear submarine in a part of the Irish Sea called the Beaufort’s Dyke.
