As the junior arm of the Yeronga South Brisbane Football Club, we provide the opportunity to play Australian Rules Football for all ages ranging from Auskick, through U6 (for children turning 5 or 6) all the way through to U17 boys and U17 girls competitions. Australian Rules Football is open to both genders, with no gender segregation until U11 (where the first specific girls competition starts) Yeronga JAFC has set high standards in both player and parent behaviour over the years and, with your support, we will continue to maintain these standards. Centrally located less than 5 kilometres from the heart of Brisbane, YJAFC is at the heart of AFL in Queensland in more ways than one. Our club grounds, Leyshon Park, are on the same Cansdale Street campus as Queensland's AFL headquarters. We boast two of the finest fields in all of Queensland, a healthy catchment in the middle of Lions territory and our facilities are second to none. The prime objective of the Yeronga Junior Australian Football Club (YJAFC) is the development of junior AFL football and footballers. To this end we will provide within the local area, a junior football program that prepares young footballers both physically and mentally for senior football and their journey through life. We have a dedicated team of coaches and team managers, with many continuing from the previous season bringing a wealth of experience. Our principal philosophy is the provision of a safe and supportive community based environment, which encourages skill development, fitness, fair play, inclusivity and teamwork. If you are interested in taking a greater role with your team or the club, please do not hesitate to discuss it with myself, one of the committee members or your team manager. We wish everyone associated with the club all the very best for season 2016. Go Devils! About Yeronga Juniors Vision To be the club of choice, with regards to promoting, encouraging and fostering the game of AFL amongst the local junior sector of the community. Mission The prime objective of the Yeronga Junior Australian Football Club (YJAFC) is the development of junior AFL football and footballers. To this end we will provide within the local area, a junior football programme that prepares young footballers both physically and mentally for senior football and their journey through life. Our principal philosophy is the provision of a safe and supportive community based environment, which encourages skill development, fitness, fair play and teamwork. Values The physical and emotional safety of our players is paramount in all that we do. Whilst success on the field is important, this club places more importance on the concepts of fair play, teamwork and team spirit. Whilst we encourage the support of parents, family and friends, there is no place for the "ugly parent syndrome" within the YJAFC. Abuse of players (of any team), umpires and other officials will not be tolerated. Adults are expected to provide a good example for children and abide by the Club’s code of conduct. Code of Conduct. The YJAFC is a local club run for the benefit of local children. We will respect the boundaries of other football clubs and expect that they will respect ours. The administration of the YJAFC will be professional, transparent and fair; all duties will be carried out honestly and with integrity. We will care for the environment in which we play, both home and away. We will be part of the community in which we play and to this end co-operate and support other sporting clubs where possible. The YJAFC believes in fair and equal treatment for all persons involved with the club and opposing clubs. About the club Yeronga Juniors is located at Leyshon Park, Cansdale Street, Yeronga in Brisbane’s inner south. UBD ref p.179 L9 The club has origins dating back to 1910. Information booklet 2016 8 Yeronga Juniors teams currently compete in the Australian Football League Brisbane Juniors (AFLBJ) junior and youth competitions and re-commenced youth girls competitions in 2015. YJAFC also runs one of the most successful NAB AFL Auskick programs in Brisbane, which allows Yeronga Juniors to transition junior players into the club following an introductory program. The club is a not for profit organisation, relying on the support of volunteers, parents and carers to take up various roles ranging from coaches and match-day officials to management committee members. No committee member is renumerated. Get involved and support your club Volunteering is great fun and provides an opportunity to meet people and develop new friendships. By getting involved you can help maintain your child’s fun and enjoyment of football. Without your help Yeronga Juniors would not be able to keep up the great environment your child enjoys. Every role at Yeronga Juniors is flexible, some requiring just one hour per week and others once every few weeks. Some roles can even be shared with other parents. Depending on the role you choose, it may require your time at trainings, games and meetings while others can be done by email or phone at your home or work in your lunch break. There are countless people from the club and the league as well as great resources available to assist you. ANSWER: On 19 July 2020, the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier and Minister for Trade, extended the Year of Indigenous Tourism to 2021 due to the impacts of COVID-19. The Palaszczuk Government is investing $10 million over two years for Indigenous tourism development and growth as part of the Year of Indigenous Tourism. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tourism experiences are an iconic part of Queensland’s tourism sector and a strong economic driver, as the sector supported $505 million in visitor expenditure and employed nearly 2500 people on a full-time basis before the COVID-19 pandemic. Key initiatives of the Year of Indigenous Tourism include: • $7 million Growing Indigenous Tourism in Queensland Fund • Our Country Tourism Business Development Service • Advance Queensland One Business program, for Indigenous business innovators and entrepreneurs • Indigenous experience, marketing, festivals and events • The scoping of the potential to establish a peak Indigenous tourism body. Under the Growing Indigenous Tourism in Queensland Fund, 24 businesses received funding of up to $25 000 to develop business concepts and feasibility studies for new growth of Indigenous tourism product or experiences, while nine businesses received funding of up to $1 million to deliver a new tourism attraction, experience or built infrastructure.

PINEAPPLE HOTEL CUP E-FOOTY RECORD ROUND 16 E-Footy RECORD 2nd August 2008 Issue 16 Editorial with Marty King GET INTO THE SPIRIT OF KICK AROUND AUSTRALIA DAY Next Thursday, 7th August, is the 150th anniversary of the fi rst recorded match of Australian Football between Melbourne schools Scotch College and Melbourne Grammar at Richmond Paddock, at what is now Yarra Park next to the MCG. As part of the celebrations of this wonderful occasion the AFL is staging ‘Kick Around Australia Day’ and I hope footy fans throughout Queensland will join the party. It’s an opportunity for all Australians to come together through football, and to wear your team colours or club scarf and have a kick of the famous Sherrin. There will be a stack of celebrations right across the country, but please, wherever you are and whatever you are doing, be part of it. Introduce friends, workmates and school friends to AFL and all that makes it the No.1 sport in Australia. Schools around the country have been busy making preparations for the day, with thousands of kids set to take part in football themed lessons, designed in line with the curriculum. Businesses and community organizations, too, are encouraged to get into the spirit and help recognize football’s 150th birthday, which is part of the Tom Wills Round, dedicated to one of the founding forefathers of our game. Redland Football Club Recruiting Package 2012 “See the Bombers fly up” www.redland.aflq.com.au A Brief History The Redland Bombers entered the new millennium with a position in the premier competition of Australian Rules football in Queensland – AFL Queensland‟s State League. This elevation came after consecutive premierships in the Brisbane Australian Football League in 1998 and 1999. Since the Club‟s inception into the State League, the Bombers have evolved into a prominent football identity within both the Redland Shire and South-East Queensland. The ongoing development of local players competing at higher levels all across Australia highlights the talent of young and up- and-coming players within the local community. The Club now competes in the newly formed NEAFL competition, which was launched in 2011 and includes teams from the Queensland State League, the Northern Territory, the AFL NSW/ACT State League, as well as the four northern AFL sides – Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns, Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney Giants. PINEAPPLE HOTEL CUP E-FOOTY RECORD ROUND 12 E-Footy RECORD 28th June 2008 Issue 12 Editorial with Marty King AFL QUEENSLAND: STRICT ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON RACIAL VILIFICATION It disappoints me to have to remind people that the AFL and AFL Queensland has a strict zero tolerance policy on racial vilifi cation. There have been a couple of unsavoury incidents lately, spread across the fi rst and second divisions of the State League competition, which are simply unacceptable. Under no circumstances will this sort of behavior be tolerated because there is no place for this sort of thing in our game, and AFL Queensland will do whatever it takes to ensure that the perpetrators are suitably reprimanded. This is a cornerstone of what State League football is all about. It is a family-oriented competition which should operate in an environment of respect and responsibility. AFLQ is no different to the AFL, which prides itself on setting behavioural standards that are benchmarks for the general society. It is why the AFL implements and takes very seriously things like the Code of Conduct, and general standards that relate to racial and religious vilifi cation and responsible consumption of alcohol. It is imperative that these values are upheld right across the competition, and so I appeal to all involved with AFL Queensland to do the right thing and to speak up if you are witnesses to inappropriate behavior. The overwhelming majority of people do the right thing all the time. They come to the football with their family or friends, they enjoy the contest and the atmosphere, they barrack for their team in good-natured fun, and they conduct themselves appropriately.

Footy in the region has been hard fought over the years with some wonderful rivalries and many classic matches, both at junior and senior level. There have been many great players and umpires, colourful characters, con- troversial finals, some big representative wins, great clubs and a plethora of fantastic club and league volunteers many of whom will be recognised tonight. The selectors don’t profess to have got the selection absolutely spot on. As with most selection processes in footy there will be debate over who may have missed out but if there is any glaring omissions once the dust has settled then I’m sure they will be included next time. Importantly, the people involved in the selection process are confident that the people inducted deserve to be there. The inductees will have their name engraved on an honour board to be erect- ed at the Multi Sports Complex at Fishermans Road and if there is ultimately to be a team from the Coast representing the region in the QAFL competition then we would like to think that the inductees will automatically become as- sociate life members of that club.
