Executive Summary Section I Vision “Be and Make”, is to bring the holistic vision of Yoga and its great legacies to the world to usher in holistic health for the entire Mankind. Mission To combine the Best of the East (Yoga and Spiritual lore) with the Best of the West (Modern Scientific Research) wherein science and spirituality are amalgamated for peaceful and mutually useful society for the self- reform. In tune with the Vision and Mission of the University right from the top person to the non-teaching employee, everybody leads the lifestyle of a yogi to remain healthy, peaceful and at the same time useful to the family and the society at large. Everybody is familiar with the basic principles of simple and exemplary lifestyle with holistic health. Each individual is imbued with the spirit of yoga so that, he/she can anywhere easily inspire anybody to take to the yoga way of life and this “Be and Make” is reflected in all our programmes including Research, Teaching-learning process and Extension activities. The proof of it can be seen in the recognition of our proud alumnus Dr. John Ebnezer, when Government of India honoured him with Padmashree award on 12th of April 2016. It was a precious moment for S-VYASA, since our Chancellor Dr. HR Nagendra was honored with Padmashree award on the same occassion. Padma Awardees Dr. HR Nagendra Dr. HR Nagendra, a scientist of NASA chose to explore yoga as a redressal measure for the ailing mankind with many non-communicable diseases. -

IQAC Initiatives towards Professional Development Program Development of individual employees is vital for Institutional growth. St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (Autonomous) encourages learning for its own sake. In this background, the IQAC took the initiative to design and conduct many programs for both teaching and non-teaching staff members termed as employee development programs for the non-teaching staff members and professional development programs for the faculty members. The faculty members of the institution were also encouraged to attend faculty development program in the college as well as outside the college. The faculty members of the Institution have attended many number of Orientation Program, Refresher Course, Short Term Course, and Faculty Development Program during the last five years. They have also represented the Institution in their professional capacity in various seminars, workshops, college committee and have delivered guest lectures, keynote addresses, chaired session, were a member of panel discussions. Mr. Giridara Naidu B, attended a faculty development program organized by ENACTUS India Infosys BPO, Mysore on 29-30th June, 2015. The objective of the program was to create awareness about ENACTUS and its activities. The participants also got an opportunity to network with faculties from esteemed Institutions from across India. YES bank made a presentation on their initiative towards social cause and their association with ENACTUS. Citizens are given the right to votes for one particular political candidate they like and bring them to power. The voting behavior has drastically changed over years due to the influence of media. Elections go a long way in making a democracy successful; they reflect political culture and people’s political behavior. Elections are intellectual exercise that helps people to remain vigilant of the activities of the government. Democracy is about the power of citizen however; the powerful media has changed the way information is given to the public during an election. Instead of providing right information to voters and marshaling change, the press has taken the role of an influencer. This study compares and analyses the news coverage of Rajya Sabha election 2020 campaigns in two leading newspapers in Bangalore during the pre-election session. The study will also focus on the amount of space allotted for election coverage. The content analysis of this publication will be analyzed to check if any publication is biased towards a particular political candidate or a party or if it is giving any excessive information either by news coverage or photographs. -

Dikila Bhutia Abstract Past one decade Kannada news and infotainment space have seen a major transformation when Kannada 24X7 news channels entered into the TV scenario and the same phenomena of news channel launch have changed the news scenario and media market strategy in Karnataka. While the state is still witnessing the launch of new news channels almost every year, the truth is that most of them are bleeding in terms of profitability and are trying their best to economize their operations as well as create new ways of revenue generation. Due to the overflow of news channels, the viewership has been unsettling comparatively at every moment. While this paper will elaborate how viewership is been shaped in different channels and at a different period. The paper also will analyze on increasing and decrease of viewership and revenue growth in the duration of two benchmark years of TV i.e. 2015 and 2017.
