The Turning Point of A Franchise

By Tyler Schubert

The 2020-2021 season for the Browns has been a great experience. COVID has caused many of the players to miss out on games due to them testing positive. They weren’t the Browns we were used to, they were actually winning games. Overall as a

Browns fan no matter how far they make it into the playoffs, I can say that every fan of

The will be happy no matter how they finish the season.

It feels great to be a Browns fan just because of how long it has been since they have done so well. It has been eighteen years since we were last in the playoffs (2002).

It’s crazy to think about it because that is how long I have been alive. They haven’t won a playoff game since 1995. It has also been 51 years since we won a playoff game that was away (1969). So it is incredible to see the Browns this season at 11-5, going from a

0-16 season in 2017.

There have been some cracks in both offense and defense that could have been worked on this season that hurt the Browns. We have a poor second line on our defense, and we need to focus more on a heavy run scheme for our offense. Nick

Chubbs, the Browns running bac,k is a major threat we have and we need to give him more credit for his efforts: having more than a thousand running yards in the normal season. Sady some of our starting players were either on the COVID list or injured, Odell

Beckham Jr, was out due to a leg injury ending his 2020 season. Players WR Rashard Higgins, WR KhaDarel Hodge, WR , WR Donovan Peoples-Jones and LB

Jacob Phillips were placed on the COVID list. They have pushed through the season with great strides and I believe that they can continue it through the playoffs. The Browns just need to be ready for anything, and I believe that if they try to make it as far as they can go, they can do anything. The only problem is that the Browns seem to have a curse upon the whole franchise. This curse is pointing to the fact that the city of Cleveland, Ohio, and its major league professional sports teams, is centered on the failure to win a championship in any major league sport in over 52 years, from 1964 to 2016.

The Cleveland Browns and its fanbase has come far this year, no matter what really happened to the Browns we stayed with them. I believe that the Browns have the strongest fanbase in NFL history and it's a reason why they want to keep winning.

Because no matter what happens, The Cleveland Browns know that their fanbase will be ready to back them up and support them no matter the challenge.
