Friends, family mem- Coming together for Kellibers and those who know the battle patients face once they are diag- nosed with a serious ill- ness gathered Saturday to help Kelli Peacock Dunn raise money to help with her mounting expenses as she begins treatment for Stage 4 breast cancer. The final tally was around $3,400, according to the event’s organizer, Erin Pierce. Tables of sale items were placed around the American Legion Hall as visitors stopped in to say hello to Kelli and make a donation by buying a cookbook, a t-shirt or some tasty baked goods. Several local pageant queens volunteered their time to sell and ap- ply temporary tattoos to folks of all ages. Mayor Wes Johnston, a retired Navy veteran, said, “The Legion Hall is more than a place for people to get together for dancing and drink- ing. We do good things here and we are willing to support the commu- nity in any way we can.”

A trip to the ER ended with a shocking diagnosis for Kelli Peacock Dunn: Stage 4 breast cancer. Family and friends are rallying around her as she begins treatment.

Orders are being taken for shirts that read: “I wear pink for Kelli” and are being sold to help raise money for the many expenses she and her husband, Jason, are facing.

Sizes (which includes onesies!) up to 1X are $10. Sizes 2X - 5X are $12. To place an order, call Carla Peacock at (850) 209-1515, email Erin Pierce at [email protected] or call her at (850) 890- 8918. The shirts are also available in blue and gray. Page 20 THE CALHOUN-LIBERTY JOURNAL MAY 14, 2014
