    JAGUAR LAND ROVER RETAIL SALES CONTINUE TO RECOVER IN QUARTER ENDING DECEMBER 2020 WITH CHINA SALES GROWING YEAR-ON-YEAR Whitley, UK, 11 January 2021 – Jaguar Land Rover marked the end of 2020 with a second successive quarter-on-quarter recovery in sales, despite the continuing impact of Covid-19. Retail sales for the quarter ending 31 December 2020 were 128,469 vehicles, 13.1% higher than the 113,569 vehicles sold in the preceding quarter, but down 9.0% on the same period last year. China sales were particularly encouraging, up 20.2% on the prior quarter and 19.1% year-on-year. Retail sales in most other regions also continued to recover and were up significantly on the prior quarter in North America (+31.7%), Overseas (+26.6%) and Europe (+20.5%). However, sales in these regions have not yet recovered to pre-Covid levels with sales for the quarter lower than a year ago in North America (-17.2%), Overseas (-20.0%), Europe (-16.3%) and the UK (-8.9%). The sales ramp-up of the new Land Rover Defender saw retails rising to 16,286 vehicles in the October to December quarter, up 66.0% on the preceding quarter with sales of the shorter wheelbase Defender 90 having started. For Jaguar, retail sales of the multi award-winning all- electric I-PACE were up 69.3% year-on-year with 7,807 sold in the quarter, as demand for electric vehicles continues to grow. For the calendar year 2020, Jaguar Land Rover retail sales were 425,974, down 23.6% on 2019, reflecting the industry impact of Covid-19 particularly in the first half of the year when plants were shut down for more than two months.

Cause: The glass, when inspected, shows clear impact marks where an object has hit the glass initiating the crack. Action: If any retailer has a vehicle with a cracked panoramic roof please see below: 1. Refer to the attached images (for reference). 2. Inspect the roof to identify any impact marks. 3. If an impact mark is found, please do NOT submit a warranty claim. Note: An inspection can be completed with the aid of a magnifying glass, inspection light, marker pen, tape measure and a camera to provide evidence. • Fig. 1 - clear impact marks can be seen. These would appear to be from a small or sharp object. • Fig. 2 - clear impact marks can be seen that may have been caused by a large or blunt object. • Fig. 3 - impact marks are not so evident. Careful examination with a magnifying glass would be preferable to identify the point of impact. This could have originated from a small, sharp object that has propagated over time and further shock. • Fig. 4 - shows small yet clear impact marks. It also shows the propagation that follows from such an impact.

  • Significant Difference" of Designs
    Analysis of Jiangling's design patent invalidation case for judging "significant difference" of designs Beijing Chaoyang People's Court recently concluded that Jaguar Land Rover Co., Ltd. won the unfair competition case against Jiangling Holdings Co., Ltd, which stirred both the automobile industry and the intellectual property industry. Land Rover has been alleging that Jiangling has been copying the design of Range Rover Evoque in the design of its product LANDWIND X7, which Jiangling has denied. The first-instance judgment was made under Anti-unfair Competition Law after both the automobile design patent of Land Rover and the automobile design patent of Jiangling were invalidated, concluding that Jiangling had been copying five distinctive features of the design of Range Rover Evoque and thus had unfair competition behaviors. Consequently, the invalidation case against Jiangling's design patent once again draws the attention of the public. Jiangling had a Chinese design patent No. 201330528226.5 with a title of "SUV (Landwind E32)" which was issued on April 23, 2014. On July 25 of the same year, Land Rover filed an invalidation request against the design patent, and, on August 3, 2015, McGovern filed another invalidation request against the same patent. The design patent Reexamination Board declared that the design patent was invalidated in a Decision No. 29146 based on the fact that the design patent did not differ significantly from the comparative design in the overall visual effect. After Beijing Intellectual Property Court revoked the decision made by Patent Reexamination Board in a first instance judgement, Beijing Higher People's Court who received an appeal made a second instance judgment of (2018) Beijing Administrative Final No.
