    Band: Ancestral (I) Genre: Power Metal Label: Iron Shield Records Album Titel: Master Of Fate Spielzeit: 54:12 VÖ: 20.01.2017 Die italienischen Ancestral beginnen ihr zweites Studioalbum direkt mit einem echten Nackenbrecher. Eine knallharte Mischung aus brachialem Power Metal und melodischem Thrash donnert bei "Back To Life" aus den Boxen. Die Riffs haben ordentlich Druck, die Vocals sind sowohl kraftvoll, als auch glasklar gehalten und das Schlagzeug hat genug Saft, um den schnellen Song gebührend voranzupeitschen. Vor allem Sänger Jo Lombardo macht eine gute Figur und ist mir auch schon von seiner Arbeit mit der Symphonic Power Metal Band Orion Riders bekannt. Auch ein ordentlich gespieltes Solo fehlt natürlich nicht. Lediglich einen etwas eingängigeren Refrain hätte ich mir noch gewünscht. Immer wieder wechseln sich groovige Midtempo Metal Passagen mit rasenden und leicht thrashigen Speed Parts ab, was das Ganze durchaus interessant gestaltet. Diese Struktur zieht sich im Grunde durch das ganze Album. Hervor sticht dann zum Beispiel das melodische und etwas eingängigere "Seven Months Of Siege", welches auch über einen brauchbaren Refrain verfügt und sogar mit wenigen Gangshouts am Ende aufwartet, was wieder einen weiteren Einfluss aus dem Thrash Metal mit sich bringt. Der Einfluss liegt auch nahe, denn immerhin war Drummer Massimiliano Antonio Mendolia schon bei der kultigen Thrash Metal Band Nuclear Simphony tätig und bringt daher einiges an Erfahrung aus diesem Bereich mit. Seine Arbeit gefällt mir hier am besten im instrumentalen Stück "Refuge Of Souls", das mit hoher Geschwindigkeit und toller Gitarrenarbeit zum Dauerbangen einlädt. Einen prominenten Gastauftritt gibt es dann im episch schleppend beginnenden "Lust For Supremacy", denn niemand geringeres als ex-Rhapsody of Fire / Angra / Vision Divine-Frontmann Fabio Lione gibt hier sein stimmliches Stelldichein zum Besten, was auch gut zum Song passt und sich mit Jo Lombardos Stimme ergänzt.

    Object 1 El Catoblepas • número 119 • enero 2012 • página 11 El heavy metal y la música académica Santiago Javier Armesilla Conde Se señalan razones antropológicas, sociológicas y tecnológicas (institucionales) de por qué el heavy metal no puede ser considerado más de lo que es respecto a la música académica, de la que dice en parte beber El sociólogo español Julio Monleón dijo una vez que el heavy metal sufre un «complejo de inferioridad» respecto a la música clásica (respecto a, en particular, la música culta, académica), pues, siendo como es música popular (degenerada, dirán algunos, entre ellos el filósofo materialista Gustavo Bueno), es junto con el jazz, el rock sinfónico y ciertos tipos de música progresiva (también de música electrónica como el ambient y, en menor medida, el new age), una de las pocas que trata de desbordar sus propios límites institucionales. Estos límites están dados por la propia composición de la música popular nacida tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el pop y el rock, que beben del blues, el swing y otros estilos populares nacidos en barrios de clase obrera, principalmente formada por negros, en ciudades del sur de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica. Según Monleón, el complejo de inferioridad se debe a que el heavy metal trata por todos los medios de acercarse, de tocar, la música culta. Al menos algúnos de sus subestilos más pretenciosos, como el metal progresivo (el cruce entre rock progresivo de los sesenta con heavy metal, cuyos mayores rizadores del rizo son los estadounidenses Dream Theater), el metal neoclásico (donde más se nota la influencia de la música barroca –Bach, Vivaldi, Paganini– en el metal, siendo sus principales impulsores los guitarristas Ritchie Blackmore –Deep Purple, Rainbow–, y Yngwie Malmsteen), el metal sinfónico (tanto en su vertiente más tradicional -Stratovarius-, más cercana a las bandas sonoras –Rhapsody Of Fire–, al rock gótico –After Forever– o al black metal –Emperor–), &c.

    Before Party Of The Sin…. Cine Marte band For 8 years, since 2005, Pablo (drummer), Gabriel (Singer) and Zack (Bass) participated on a band called “Cine Marte”. With two albums (“Un día de abril” 2009 y “verano” 2012), they were signed by EMI MUSIC CHILE | Emi Music Publishing Chile | Sony BMG Argentina | Sony Music Chile on 2007. They had a hugh recognization on south America and México. Their videos were broadcasted on MTV latin America during this years having a very good reception on the audicence. This made that they had several interviews on radios and presentations on tv (https://www.youtube.com/user/cinemartetube/videos). Thanks of their most recognized singles “Dime a Donde”, “Salvame”, “Si los dos” and “Verano” the videos of this songs were on rotation on MTV for 2 to 4 months, by order of the audience, some of them get to the third place, for several weeks on a program called “Los 10 más pedidos” (The 10 most requested).
