NANHI KALI Nanhi Kali project for girl children from poor families of rural area has really brought a big change in the lives of the girls in Maval and Mulshi taluka of district Pune. 200 girls from 32 villages are given educational support. The economic support is one of the biggest hurdle for the growth of the girl child in rural area, therefore they cannot go for high school education. Parents were also reluctant because of their old mindset and unwillingness to send the girls to school.

SAMPARC with its hard efforts, constant persuasion and counseling made it successful and possible. As a result more than 150 girl children have completed their 10th std because of SAMPARC’s intervention. Since last 10 years SAMPARC is running education support for girl child under Nanhi Kali with the help of K.C.Mahindra Education Trust, Mumbai.

SAMPARC Page 6 This educational support has improved female literacy rate drastically. Child marriages have totally stopped in these areas and today people are more aware of the importance of education especially for the female child.
