Plata para colombiano Fabian Puerta en keirin en Mundial de ciclismo París,FRA, 13 abril (AFP) - El colombiano Fabian Puerta gano la medalla de plata en el keirin en el campeonato mundial de ciclismo de pista de Hong Kong, al ser superado solamente en la final por malasio Azizulhasni Awang. Puerta fue segundo a 38 centésimas de Awang, mientras que el checo Tomas Babek fue tercero. En persecución por equipos masculinos, Australia conservó este jueves el oro, con la cuarteta de Sam Welsford, Cameron Meyer, Alexander Porter y Nicholas Yallouris, luego de batir a Nueva Zelanda con un margen de 2 segundos y 476 milésimas. Por otra parte, Nueva Zelanda conquistó el oro en la velocidad por equipos de la rama masculina, con Ethan Mitchell, Sam Webster y Edward Dawkins , que marcaron 44.049 y dominaron al trío holandés. Nueva Zelanda consiguió así su tercer título mundial en esta prueba, tras los logrados en 2014 y 2016. En la final de los Juegos Olímpicos de Río de Janeiro 2016 el equipo neozelandés perdió ante los pedalistas de Gran Bretaña. También, la italiana Rachele Barbieri ganó el scratch femenino por delante de la británica Elinor Barker y de la belga Jolien D'Hoore. En otra de las finales disputadas en el miercoles en la primera jornada del Mundial, Rusia logró el oro en velocidad femenina por equipos al batir a Australia en la final, con Daria Shmeleva y Anastasiia Voinova.
