The Paranormal and a New Theory of the Universe John Nwanegbo - Ben
International Journal of Novel Research in Interdisciplinary Studies Vol. 1, Issue 2, pp: (26-36), Month: November-December 2014, Available at: www.noveltyjournals.com The Paranormal and a New Theory of the Universe John Nwanegbo - Ben Department of Philosophy of Science & Technology Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria Abstract: Discussions concerning the Paranormal and Science has been on the possible existence of the claimed activities of paranormal feats. The experimental Scientist posits that claims to these phenomena are fraudulent and its possibility doubtful. They went further to believe that only experimental procedures that adopt the accepted scientific methods can prove its truth or falsity. This article assumes that the propaganda for experimental scientific method hampers successful research and investigation into the paranormal. It went further to assert that a careful perusal of paranormal and experimental science shows that all parts of the universe are connected in an intimate way, both in the seen and unseen energies as was previously posited by mystics without scientific proof. The paper concludes that the paranormal is a science of the future. Keywords: Science, Paranormal, Psychic energy, Experimental psychology, Psychokinesis, Telepathy. I. INTRODUCTION Paranormal simply suspect that we do not know everything about nature. The paranormal “consists of alleged occurrences or powers which, if actual cannot be explained by our current understanding of Physics” [Terry Davidson.2010.] Paranormal phenomena are anathema to orthodox scientists because they neglect the central dogma of the materialistic faith: that everything is explicable in terms of physical matter - energy operating according to known Laws. Many scientists are so convinced that the paranormal does not exist and that no amount of evidence will ever persuade them otherwise. -
The History of Cracking the ENIGMA Machine
From Poznań to Bletchley Park : the history of cracking the ENIGMA machine: Marie-José Durand-Richard1 Philippe Guillot2 INTRODUCTION During World War II, the Allies could read many of the German ciphered messages they intercepted in plain text almost immediately, providing them with an advantage that had a significant impact on the course of the conflict. Movies such as Enigma (1999) and The Imitation Game (2015), highlight the success of the work of the British at Bletchley Park, and particularly the work of the mathematician Alan Madison Turing (1912-1954). But Turing did not work alone on breaking the Enigma code at Bletchley Park, and it is much less well-known that during the 1930s, the Poles had already accomplished the feat of making transparent the enciphered communications between the German army and its General Staff. So, the history of breaking the Enigma code is rather more complicated than is shown in such hagiographic movies. In this perspective, this paper focuses on the various skills at work in cracking the Enigma machine. In the period from 1932 to 1942, both the French and the British considered military intelligence would be more essential than mathematical cryptanalysis in overcoming the problem. However, their political and geographical situation stimulated the Poles to coordinate their technical, mathematical and political capabilities. Cyclometers, Bombas and perforated sheets were produced to help them overcome complications gradually introduced by the German armies in their Enigma ciphering methods. As early as 1936, the British codebreaker A. Dillwyn (Dilly) Knox (1884-1943) started a manual cryptanalysis of the commercial Enigma code at the Government Code and Cipher School (GC&CS) and succeeded in breaking the code of its Spanish and Italian versions in 1937. -

SENATE HOUSE LIBRARY University of London IDENTITY STATEMENT Reference: MS912 Title: Eric John Dingwall Papers. Dates: c1800-1986 Level: fonds Extent and Medium: 242 boxes Name of Creator: Dingwall, Eric John (1890-1986) anthropologist CONTEXT Biographical/Administrative History: Born in Ceylon in 1890, Eric John Dingwall was a graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge. He joined the staff of the Cambridge University Library in 1915 as a volunteer and went on to become an assistant librarian, leaving in 1918. In his youth he developed an enduring interest in magic and was eventually elected to the Magic Circle. This informed his approach to the investigation of the physical phenomena of mediumship, his major contribution to the Society for Psychical Research which he joined in 1920. In 1921 he spent a year in the United States as Director of the Department of Physical Phenomena at the American Society for Psychical Research. He was then appointed research officer to the British Society in 1922. One facet of Dingwall's complex character was his interest in sexual deviation and peculiar sexual practices, an interest which annoyed some of his colleagues at the Society and led to the termination of his appointment in 1927. His failure to be elected to the Society Council in 1928 led to his excessive criticism of the Society's administration. Released from his responsibilities at the SPR he continued to publish books including "Ghosts and Spirits in the Ancient World" (1930), "The Girdle of Chastity" (1931) and "How to Use a Large Library" (1933). In 1932 he was awarded his DSc from University College London.
