    Training Seminar: Participating in Horizon 2020 from Japan 29 July 2016 Osaka, Japan Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over seven years (2014-2020) and open to participation from all over the world, including Japan. It provides an ideal opportunity for Japanese organisations to work together with Europe. The training aims to initiate Japanese researchers, research administrators, Japanese companies and representatives from municipalities into participation of Horizon 2020 projects with European partners. Training subjects range from the application process to Horizon 2020 to the administrative requirements of Japanese participants during the life cycle of a Horizon 2020. Particular attention will be given to the actual experience of Japanese organisations in Horizon 2020 dealing with Horizon 2020 projects, highlighting industry-academia- government collaboration. We found that while the Japanese taxpayers have high tax morale, half of them disagree with the consumption tax hike in October 2019.
