Aggregio Ltd. June 2015 — Jan 2016 Founder & Full-stack developer Aggregio (http://aggreg.io) was a startup that algorithmically aggregated, clustered and analyzed hundreds of news articles per day, to provide personalised news to smartphone users in Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya.
Aggregio later pivoted to Nutshell, that provided quick visual summaries of the days most important news, before we closed shop due to financial constraints. Specific tasks accomplished include:

Google Developer Group, Makerere May 2014 — May 2015 Chapter Lead Organiser As GDG Lead organiser, I was responsible for organising developer events in the chapter such as bootcamps, code-labs, hackathons and assist fellow chapter members better understand Google Technologies such as Android, Google APIs, Google App Engine and others.
Key accomplishments include:
Managed to reach over 120 unique developers, and over 40 female through our events and activities. Successful organised Android Devfest (http://gdgmakerere.github.io), a mini-conference that brought together over 70 developers.

Google Inc. July 2013 — July 2014 Student Ambassador I was a liaison between Google and Makerere University. My responsibility was to plan and host events during the school year, to introduce students to new Google products and features, and act as a campus contact for Google teams. Key accomplishments included:
Organised a map up of suburb near university and garnered over 120 approved edits on Google Maps in spite of an electricity blackout. Created a mobile application that keeps students up to date with university news and events Reached out to over 500 students in Google awareness campaign. Participated in organising the first G day in Uganda and Google Business Group Kampala events. Created website that keeps students up to date with our activities and Google products.
Jaguza Limited August 2012 — May 2014 Mobile Application Developer I was part of the mobile team that developed new features and released updates for the Jaguza Android Application on Google Play Store, using Android SDK. I also solely developed the Jaguza application for iPhone. Specific tasks accomplished include:
Implemented left and right slide in drawer for the mobile Android application Fully implemented the events module for the Android app including the API that allows the mobile app to interact with the web back-end. Implemented all the views, activities and various methods to query the SQLite database for the What’s Happening module. Implemented the gallery view for version 1.0 of the application. Designed a Test Design Specification and Test Report for the Jaguza web application. Solely developed Jaguza for iPhone with the Cocoa Touch Framework.
Arms Technologies Limited June 2013 — November 2013 Web Developer Intern I was part of a team that built the back-end of the School Information System(SIS), a product of Arms Technologies Ltd using Spring Web MVC Java Framework. Specific tasks accomplished include:
Designed and created MySQL database for the Admissions, Registration, Results and Reports modules. Implemented back-end logic that performs automated admissions and stream allocation for over 500 students. Developed a service that generates and uploads spreadsheets used to enter student results to the system. Implemented functionality to generate individual student reports, admission letters, and various reports and lists in PDF format across different modules. Implemented controllers and data access objects to manipulate student data and perform analysis to generate various charts and reports. Utilized jQuery and AJAX to create a rich and dynamic interface to display various lists, charts and tables.
Intel Corporation June 2014 — June 2015 Student Partner I was a liaison between Intel and Makerere University. Accomplishments include:
Organised the first Intel Android Hackathon that attracted over 17 developer teams. Conducted 3 training sessions on Android SDK and Intel XDK, that reached over 200 students. Organised the Intel Selfie challenge, that generated over 150 impressions on social media.
