Wells (30) failed to control his hook shot when Douthwaite dug one in short then Glamorgan took three wickets in ten balls to reduce Sussex to 126 for 4. Australian leg-spinner Marnus Labuschagne picked up Harry Finch (31) and Stiaan van Zyl (0) with his first two deliveries as Finch missed a long hop and van Zyl was beaten by a googly. Timm van der Gugten then returned to the attack to bowl Laurie Evans (4) via an inside edge. But Sussex skipper Ben Brown, who also made a century last week, and Salt took Sussex into the lead with a stand of 82 in 17 overs.

From the 2007/08 season onwards, various women’s T20 tournaments have been held featuring combinations of states and the ACT. The Australian Women’s T20 Cup began in the 2009/10 season and continued to the end of 2014/15. At that time the seven teams from the states and the ACT played each other twice leading up to a final. Establishment of the WBBL In July 2015, Cricket Australia announced the establishment of the Australian Women’s Big Bash League, to be known as the WBBL, beginning in season 2015/16. The tournament is currently contested by eight teams across the six states, aligned with the eight sides in the men’s T20 Big Bash League (BBL). There are two teams in Sydney and Melbourne and one each in the other state capitals. WBBL|04 runs from December 1, 2018 until January 26, 2019. The fixture comprises 59 matches - 56 qualifying matches played at major centres around Australia with teams playing each other twice, followed by both semi-finals on January 19 to be played at the same location and hosted by the top-ranked team, with the final to be played on Australia Day. The Season in the TCL under the captaincy of Paul Sussex was mediocre the 1st X1 finished 13th, despite having 2 bowlers in the top 10 of the bowling averages. Kyle Holmes actually topped the averages with 48 wickets at 9.18, Paul Sussex was 8th with 32 wickets at 16.90. In the batting Ryland Wallace with 583 runs at 36.43 and Matthew Morris with 417 runs at 29.78 were the only batsmen to make an impression. Ryland Wallace’s total included a magnificent 129. Interestingly 4 of the top ten in the batting averages were either overseas players or Professionals. Mark Douglas who has played One Day Internationals for New Zealand, Andrew Roseberry of Leicestershire and Glamorgan, A Daly and P Russell both Australian Grade 1 players - 326 - Abergavenny Cricket Club History 160th Anniversary-Season - 327 - Abergavenny Cricket Club History Glamorgan v Kent Kent 408 and 330 Glamorgan 266 and 378 Glamorgan lost by 94 runs This match saw victory for Kent and the honour of a Royal visit as Prince Charles flew in by helicopter.
