NACCNACC THEATRETHEATRENACC Theatre Summer 16

FromHello theeveryone! Director I hope no one missed the beautifully charming production of Big Fish we closed in May. It was a wonderful experience for the entire cast and crew, and we were particularly thrilled about having 1

the author of the novel, Daniel Wallace, in our audience. PO Box 159, Rainsville, AL 35986 256-638-4418 or 256-228-6001 ext 2218 www.nacc.edu He was both delightful and delighted with his experience here at NACC’s production of his story. Big thanks to Dr. Campbell and Joan Reeves for making it possible to bring him to our campus! I cannot wait, however, for you all to enjoy Forbidden Broadway! The cast is going to be a delight to behold, and the show is, well, hysterical! This is a fast paced spoof of the biggest songs from the biggest shows in Broadway’s recent history. In the course of one evening you will enjoy highlights from Phantom, , Les Misérables, Mama Mia, , Fiddler, , , Hairspray, Chicago, and many more, all with a comic twist sure to have your sides splitting with laughter the entire evening! The first time I saw a production of this show my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing throughout the whole show. The performance I attended had only four people in the cast. Ours has nine times as many cast members, totaling thirty-six talented performers anxious to entertain and delight you with their beautiful voices and their campy antics. A few examples of the hilarity include an aging Annie who sings, “I’m thirty years old tomorrow” while smoking a cigarette, Eponine singing “On My Phone” instead of “On My Own”, “Mucous of the Night” instead of “Music of Audiences of all ages will enjoy the Night” from Phantom, and many, many more to tickle your funny bone. If you or anyone you know needs a good this unique revue that parodies laugh and an evening full of fun, be sure to bring them to some of the most beloved musicals Forbidden Broadway! Heartfelt thanks to everyone for your love and including Chicago, Annie, Into support of NACC and the Theatre Department! You never know how a life may be changed by an evening in the the Woods, Hello Dolly, West Side theatre, and I have many, many first-hand accounts of lives being changed for the better by experiencing one Story, Wizard of Oz, Wicked, Les performance, one night in the theatre here at Northeast. Misérables, Mamma Mia, , Those of you who support and have supported the theatre are responsible, in part, for making a change in Camelot, , someone’s life. As one theatre instructor writes, “The purpose of theatre, is to heal the planet.” Or at least some small part Hairspray, A Chorus Line, and of someone’s “planet”. Laughter is certainly healing, so let us entertain you MANY MORE! Don’t forget patron and please enjoy Forbidden Broadway’s healing power! receptions are on Saturdays! All the best, Mark May 17, 2016 DREAM. LOVE. LIVE. BIGGER! NACC Theatre Summer 16 “A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him.
