Valladolid, 81, 1º - 28008 Madrid – Fax:915476113 / 915480638 Nota de Prensa - 090/2003 - Madrid, 11 de julio de 2003 SUPER GRAND PRIX “MADRID’2012” MÁS ESTRELLAS PARA EL SUPER GRAND PRIX “MADRID’2012” Durante el fin de semana que hoy comienza seguro que se producen importantes novedades de cara a la participación en el Super Grand Prix “Madrid’2012” del día 19 en el Estadio de Madrid. Estas importantes novedades, así como la lista completa de participantes y otros detalles organizativos, quedarán desveladas en la rueda de prensa que José Mª Odriozola -Presidente de la RFEA- y Feliciano Mayoral -Consejero Delegado de Madrid’2012- ofrecerán en el martes día 15 a las 13,00 horas en el salón Edimburgo del Hotel NH Eurobuilding, sito en la calle Padre Damián nº 23 de Madrid. En cualquier caso, a los nombres ya avanzados –los especialistas en saltos y lanzamientos- la organización ya ha cerrado la presencia de destacados velocistas, mediofondistas y vallistas, como es el caso de los siguientes atletas. Frank Frederiks, un gigante de la velocidad, contra Francis Obikwelu El namibio Frank Frederiks, dos veces campeón del Mundo de 200 m.l. – en 1999 bajo techo y en 1993 al aire libre- tres veces subcampeón mundial (1991, 1995 y 1997) y doble subcampeón olímpico en barcelona’92 y Atlanta’96 tanto en 100 como en 200 m.l., es una de las estrellas de la velocidad que competirá el Estadio de la Peineta. Su principal rival por el momento, ante inminentes incorporaciones, puede ser el portugués de origen nigeriano Francis Obikwelu actual subcampeón europeo de 100 y 200 m.l. en Munich’2002 además de subcampeón mundial en Sevilla’99, aunque tampoco conviene olvidarse del brasileño André da Silva que este año ostenta la quinta mejor marca mundial del año con 20.15. La prueba contará con los mejores españoles, entre los que sobresale el atleta Ángel D. Rodríguez, natural de Mostoles, que hasta la fecha es el único español que durante este año ha parado el cono en menos de 21.00 (20.98). En la vuelta a la pista David Canal tendrá la oportunidad de volver a medirse con el francés Marc Raquil que este año ha derrotado al español en la reunión de Sevilla, en la que batió el record frances con 44.80 y en la Superliga Europea disputada en Florencia. De cualquier manera, David Canal puede presumir que con títulos en juego llega antes que el nuevo plusmarquista francés, el atleta español quedó subcampeón de Europa en Munich’2002 y en el Euroindoor de Viena’2000 y en ambos casos Raquil quedó detrás. Un rival de cuidado para los dos es el británico Daniel Caines, Campeón del Mundo bajo techo en Lisboa’2001, subcampeón en Birmingham’2003 y medalla de bronce en Munich’2002. En mediofondo a los ya anunciados Antonio Reina y la “megaestrella” Wilson Kipketer, hay que añadir a otro atleta de lujo, Hezequiel Sepeng que cuenta con un importante historial: subcampeó olímpico en Atlanta’96 y Mundial en Sevilla’99. Naturalmente, junto a Antonio Reina se alinearán los mejores españoles. Entre los vallistas el papel estelar hasta la fecha corresponde al francés Stephane Diagana, al actual Campeón de Europa de 400 m.v. en Munich’2002, Campeón Mundial en Atenas’97, Subcampeón en Sevilla’99 y medalla de bronce en Goteborg’94. Diagana tendrá como principales “clientes” a los mejores atletas del ranking mundial del año y a los tres mejores españoles del momento: José Mª Romera, Iván Rodríguez y Jaime Juan. María Mutola, Sonia O’Sullinvan y Olga Yegorova, estrellas con luz propia Una de las mejores mediofondistas de la historia, la mozambiqueña María Mutola, alumb rará con su estrella la tarde-noche madrileña. Mutola es la actual reina del 800 m.l. mundial. Nos ahorramos comentarios con el recuento de sus medallas: Campeona del Mundo indoor en 1993, 1995, 1997, 2001 y 2003 y otra vez más subcampeona en 1999. Campeona del Mundo al aire libre en 1993 y 2001, subcampeona en 1999 y tercera en 1997. Campeona Olímpica en Sydney y tercera en 1996. maría Mutola, naturalmente manda en el ranking mundial del año con 1:56.57 y permanece invicta este año. Mayte Martínez, actual subcampeona europea en Munch’2002, tiene una bonita carrera para volver a correr en menos de dos minutos. Otras dos estrellas del atletismo mundial que también estarán en Madrid, son Sonia O’Sullivan, irlandesa ella, y Olga Yegorova. Tanto una como otra “amigas” de la palentina Marta Domínguez. Pero en el estadio de Madrid, la espigada Sonia Osullivan no se verá las caras, como en Munich, con Marta Domínguez, en esta ocasión la irlandesa correrá el 1500 y ahí se encontrará con esa joya que responde al nombre de Natalia Rodríguez, la ganadora de la Superliga en Florencia y del Meeting de Golden League disputado en París, a la espera de lo que hoy viernes 11 haga en la Golden Gala de Roma. Quien si tendrá el placer de medirse con Marta Domínguez es la rusa Olga Yegorova en la prueba de 3.000 m.l. que también contará con la presencia de la portuguesa Fernanda Riberiro. Entre Sonia O’Sullivan, Olga Yegorova, Fernanda Riberiro y Marta Domínguez suman 29 medallas internacionales: Sonia O’Sullivan (9): Campeona de Europa de 3000 en Helsinki’94, de 5000 y 10.000 en Budapest’98 y subcampeona de 5000 y 10000 en Munich’2002. Campeona Mundial de 5000 en Goteborg’95, Subcampeona en 1500 en Stuttgart’93 y de 3000 en pista cubierta en 1997. Subcampeona Olímpica de 5000 en Sidney’2000. Olga Yegorova (2): Campeona Mundial de 3000 m.l. en pista cubierta en 2001 y de 5000 m.l. al aire libre también en 2001 Fernanda Ribeiro (10): Campeona de Europa de 3000 en pista cubierta en 1994 y 1996 y subcampeona en 1998; tercera en 3000 en el mundial indoor de 1997. Campeona de Europa de 10.000 m.l. en 1998 y subcampeona en 1994; subcampeona mundial en 1995 y tercera en 1997; campeona Olímpica en Atlanta’96 y tercera en Sidney’2000 Marta Domínguez (8): Campeona de Europa de 3000 m.l. en pista cubierta en 2002, tercera en 1996, 1998 y 2000; subcampeona mundial de 3000 m.l. en pista cubierta en Birmingham’2003. Abstract Magnitude, composition and spatiotemporal patterns of vertebrate roadkill at regional scales: a study in southern Spain. Although roadkill studies on a large scale are challenging, they can provide valuable information to assess the impact of road traffic on animal populations. Over 22 months (between July 2009–June 2010, and April 2011–March 2012) we surveyed 45 road sections of 10 km within a global biodiversity hotspot in Andalusia (87,000 km2), in southern Spain. We divided the region into five ecoregions differing in environmental conditions and landscape characteristics and recorded the relative magnitude, composition and spatiotemporal patterns of vertebrate (birds, mammal, amphibians, and reptiles) mortality. We used roadkill data from monthly surveys of road stretches with different speed limits, traffic volume, road design, and adjacent landscape composition. Roadkills varied over time and were not randomly distributed across ecoregions and road types. Overall, the groups most frequently encountered were mammals (54.4 % of total roadkills) and birds (36.2 %). Mortality rates in these two groups were higher on highways than on national or local roads, whereas those of amphibians (4.6 %) and reptiles (4.3 %) did not differ between road types.
