So Please do NOT turn up at the for club meeting this week as it’s not on until the week after We will be cutting the 40th Anniversary cake at the April meeting Norman Park Sports & Community Club 43 Norman Avenue, Norman Park The club meetings will be trialing a new venue for the next few months, for our monthly club meeting, at the Norman Park Sports & Community Club, to see if it suites our needs as a permanent club meeting venue. The Norman Park sports club is only small but is fully air conditioned, it has a bar & kitchen with basic meal at good prices eg: Burgers, Pasta, Schnities (plain or with avo) steaks plus chips or wedges. The main thing is the air conditioning that works, unfortunately there are NO pokies on the premises, so you’ll just have to have another drink. Hoping to see more members turn up to try the new venue and support a small club President’s Report March/ April Hello Everyone, Great run to the Gold Coast Museum although very wet. I believe everyone enjoyed the Run Thanks Steve D. As you know we have just celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the club. What a great evening. It was great to see founding member number 1 Kev Henson and his partner Shelly. Congratulations to All our 40year members. What an awesome achievement. Thanks to all those that spoke (even though I put most of you on the spot SORRY ). You gave us a great in site as to how the club was formed. Thanks also to all past committee members over the 40 years because without you all taking on the positions the club may not exist and or still be running today. All these people (are volunteers). All these great achievements and events would not happen without these volunteers SO THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH. Thank you to those that came along for the celebration. Update on the All Ford Day it’s locked in for the 18th July all going well. Covid has certainly made life interesting hopefully we can all stay free of it and get back to some sort of normality. GT Nationals – committee is going full steam ahead, logo has been chosen, they are arranging for it to be online and have a Facebook page, if you know of anyone who is interested in sponsorship please get them to talk to Bob Taylor, delegates are meeting in April everything will go live after this meeting, merchandise has been a large undertaking as there are going to be a large range of different merchandise available to purchase. Entries for the first car will be a set amount but each additional car will be a lower figure (but will not include additional shirts). You must have an entrant number to book a room. Get your entries in quickly so that you can book a room at the main hotel. 5. All Ford Day – the new CEO at Willowbank no longer works there. There are a few details still being sorted out. If you can help on the day and/or the day before it would be greatly appreciated. Willow bank has gone cashless, you need to pay before you get there or before you get in the gate. Please share the Facebook post when you see it to spread the word. 6. Tammy received an email from a club member who is from Mackay, they are doing the Red Centre Nationals, they would like to go as representatives of the Falcon GT owners club; it was asked if anyone agreed with them representing the club – everyone agreed; they would also like to know if there are any locals going 7.

Matters finalised from Race 28: The Stewards held a Hearing to consider the Protest lodged by Racing Team (Aust) Pty against the DRD’s Determination not to refer to the Stewards for the imposition of a Penalty the Incident during Car #97’s second Pit Stop in Race 28 when the rear wheels were observed to rotate. The Stewards dismissed the Protest and published their decision to the parties at 1530hrs. No Notice of Intention to Appeal from the Stewards’ decision was received from any party within the time prescribed by Rule B5.2.1.2. Matters from Qualifying for Race 29: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD conducted a post-Session investigation at the request of Motorsport Holdings Pty Ltd into an allegation that Car #7, Andre Heimgartner, was impeded by Car #14, Tim Slade. The DRD reviewed the Judicial Camera footage from Car #7. No Incident was observed on that review and the DRD determined accordingly not to refer the matter to the Stewards. A bit of a mixed bag this month as we wind down to the final major event of the year – Speed Weekend. Lots of new information for the upcoming year with the draft calendar now out and a reminder to those interested in the history vehicles of our sport that the tribute to the Targa Florio is coming up from the 29th November to the 3rd December. Moves are now underway to have the Bathurst Light Car Club undertake officials training courses in conjunction with CAMS in the Club’s rooms on Conrod Straight with more details to come in the next Edition. Remember it is still not too late to become eligible for the weekend away for two people on the coast, you just have to be registered as a volunteer at a Club event in 2017 as an official to go in the draw for your chance to win. The winner will be announced at the Club Presentation Night and Christmas Party on the 9th December and tickets for the best Christmas Party in town go on sale this month. Matters from Race 27; The Stewards imposed a 25 Championship Points Penalty on Car #96 Dale Wood for a driving infringement (Careless Driving – contact on Car #222 Nick Percat at Turn 6). The IO conducted investigations into the following incidents and determined that they did not warrant being referred to the Stewards: • Contact between Car #96 Dale Wood and Car #222 Nick Percat; • Car #22 James Courtney failure to Racing Room to Car #18 Lee Holdsworth; • Contact between Car #15 Rick Kelly and Car #9 David Reynolds; • Contact between Car #8 Jason Bright and Car #96 Dale Wood. Matters from Race 26; The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty on Car #88 Jamie Whincup for a driving infringement on Lap 12 (Careless Driving – contact on Car #97 Shane van Gisbergen at Turn 8). Please note this form must be submitted to: Member Services, PO Box 172, Canterbury VIC 3126, RECEIVED STAMP HERE or emailed to [email protected] (OFFICE USE ONLY) MEMBER NUMBER Criteria Each Driver in the Supercars Championship must hold a Motorsport Australia Superlicence in addition to the minimum of an FIA International Grade C licence. An application for a Motorsport Australia Superlicence must be submitted to Motorsport Australia Member Services on the approved form. To qualify for a Motorsport Australia Superlicence each applicant must satisfy the following criteria: (tick all satisfied criteria) a. Hold a minimum of an FIA International Grade C licence; and b. Be a minimum of 17 years of age; and c. Accumulate a minimum of 13 points under either the FIA (refer ISC Appendix L) or Motorsport Australia Superlicence points system during the 5 years prior to the application (Page 3) In addition to the above each application also must satisfy at least one (1) of the following criteria: (tick all satisfied criteria) i. Be one of the first six (6) of the final classification of the previous year’s Supercars Australia Super2 Series.
