Mari Eggins Mari has been a Governor at School since 2008. Mari’s Parent 2019-2023 Chair professional experience is as the CEO of a Cornish charity and she brings 21.10.19 2019-2020 her understanding of safeguarding and the needs of disadvantaged children to the governing body. Mari is currently Chair of Achievement and Learning and is committed to supporting to continue to deliver a fair, inclusive education where each child can reach their potential in the Redruth community.

Ross Williams Ross attended what was then Redruth Grammar School back in the Foundation (Trust) 2017-2021 Vice Chair 1960s and now runs Krowji, the creative hub of studios and offices based 30.01.17 2019-2020 in the old school. His three children all attended Redruth School and he is very involved in a range of projects in and around the town.

Eugene Clemence Eugene has been a governor at Redruth School since 2011, representing All staff 2015-2019 the whole staff body. Eugene started his working career as an 11.12.15 Adventure Sports instructor before working underground at South Crofty. After the close of South Crofty he attended the School of Mines studying Mining Engineering. Eugene then decided on a career change and trained as a teacher; he started working within the Special Needs department at Redruth in 2002. Eugene is currently the school’s Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO).

Lewis Meyer Dr Lewis Meyer has been a governor since 2016. Lewis is a Chartered Co-opted 2016-2020 Engineer and has had a career in the international mining industry and 25.05.16 consultancy. He is presently a Senior Lecturer in Mining Engineering at the Camborne School of Mines, Exeter University. Lewis is a member of the Resources committee.

Andy Parsons Andy has been a governor since 2007, initially as a parent governor Foundation 2019-2023 when his two children were pupils and more recently as a Foundation (Trust) 21.10.19 (Trust) governor. Andy was born and bred in Redruth and attended Redruth School many years ago. He spent his early days working in the mining industry, initially at South Crofty Mine and then Wheal Jane Mine before working abroad in mineral exploration. He also served for over 10 years in the Fire Brigade based in Redruth. Andy now works locally as an Estate Agent. Andy is currently Chair of the Resources committee and is committed to helping to secure a strong financial base for the school for the foreseeable future.

Hayley Plowright Hayley is a parent governor with a son and daughter who attend Redruth Parent 2018-2022

School. Hayley was a previous pupil of Redruth School. From 2008-2014 16.04.08 she was a parent governor at Treleigh Primary School. Hayley is a Registered Nurse; her current role is with the Royal Hospital Learning and Development Team as a Lead Clinical Practice Educator as well as an Honorary Lecturer with Plymouth University. Hayley is a member of both the Personnel and Achievement and Learning sub-committees.

Stephen Roberts Stephen is a Co-opted Governor who has joined the Governing Body Co-opted 2018-2022 after previously serving as a Parent Governor and Chair of Governors at 04.10.18 Lanner School. Previously a school teacher and lecturer in Business Education he is particularly interested in careers education for young people. Having being educated at Redruth School himself he is dedicated to the agenda of continuous improvement the school has set itself. He works for a local organisation that aims to support the marine industry in Cornwall.

Kit Savage Dr Kit Savage is a parent governor whose child started Redruth School in Parent 2018-2022 2017. Kit is in her 12th year of teaching in the Performing Arts 11.07.18 Department at Truro College, although she started her teaching career as a Secondary School English teacher in Plymouth. Kit also spent several years teaching the undergraduates in the Drama Department at Exeter University whilst completing her Ph.D. on Elizabethan Theatre.

Elly Sheard Revd Elly is a Church of England priest, licensed to the Diocese of Truro, Co-opted 2019-2023 and has served as a governor of Redruth School for three years. Prior to 11.02.19 ordination she taught mathematics for 25 years at secondary and FE levels. She is currently a chaplain at Truro College and teaches theology in parishes around Cornwall. In her spare time Elly sings and goes scuba diving.

Peter Sheppard Peter has been a longstanding member of the governing body for over LA 2016-2020 25 years. He is a practicing mining engineer and Managing Director of a 01.09.16 local mining company with worldwide interests. Peter is also a trustee of the Camborne School of Mines and is a local Parish Councillor. In his spare time Peter runs a 1929 Rolls Royce, two narrow gauge diesel locomotives and a couple of post war sports cars.

Mark Victor Mark has been a Governor at Redruth since 2007. Prior to this he was a Co-opted 2019-2023 Governor and former Chair at Trewirgie Junior School. He is a civil 04.11.19 servant and works in the local area. Both his children went to Redruth School. In his spare time Mark enjoys walking and the odd round of golf. He also helps out with hikes etc with a local Scout group where his wife is a leader.
