We welcome the over 250 competitors to Branson, Missouri as we crown four National Champions this weekend. Our prayer is that everything that takes place during this event will bring honor to Christ via our conduct, competition, and service to others. Sincere thanks and gratitude are given to Jason Covarrubias, DI Cross Country Chair from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and Gerry Verwey, DII Cross Country Chair from Grace Christian University, for their excellent leadership during this season as we prepared for these events. We are most thankful to Dr. Jerry Davis, President of , along with Steve Shepherd, Chris Larsen, Dori Rapinchuk, and the entire Bobcats athletic department for the hundreds of hours given in hosting this event. This year will see the continued growth of our Christian Service Project program at each championship and the broadening of the NCCAA brand within all the constituencies of the association. The mission of the NCCAA to further the Great Commission of Christ through intercollegiate athletics continues to be our defining trait and we are blessed to have 89 institutions, over 17,000 student-athletes, and almost 700 coaches, partner with us in this calling. Enjoy the time here in Branson and be sure to express appreciation to those who have assisted with making these events a reality. Be courteous and respectful to all those you meet and remember that you may be the only glimpse of Christ they get during these days. May you and the whole NCCAA family in attendance here at these championships be sorely missed when we depart! Best of luck to you all and thanks for choosing a Christ-centered college for your education!

Sincerely,

Dan Wood Executive Director

For Immediate Release Contact: Brandon Gilmore, Director of Communications (bgilmore@ thenccaa.org)

Greenville, SC: The NCCAA is pleased to announce Emma Jankowski of Bethel University as the 2019 Ray Bullock Award Recipient for Division I Women’s Cross Country.

Jankowski is a talented runner who made an immediate impact for the Pilots when she arrived her sophomore year. In her first year at Bethel, she won the individual title at the 2018 NCCAA DI Women’s Cross Country National Championship in a time of 18:32, also earning NCCAA All-American honors. At the 2018 NAIA National Championship, Jankowski finished in 46th in a school record (at that time) of 18:18. She has since broken that record this season with a time of 18:11. Jankowski has also been named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week several times.

The junior from Granger, Indiana is majoring in exercise science and nursing, and currently holds a 4.00 GPA, qualifying her as an NCCAA and NAIA Scholar-Athlete this year. Jankowski regularly attends and participates in a weekly Bible study. She leads the team by example and relates to her teammates in a humble and kind way. Jankowski daily lives out her beliefs in how she treats people through her peaceful and encouraging demeanor.

“Emma is a tremendous athlete who is committed and coachable, but more importantly, she maintains a proper perspective on athletics and competition,” stated Head Coach Ryan Sommers. “She is a wonderful teammate who loves building and investing in relationships.”

Other Finalists Hannah Duncan, College of the Ozarks Janna Imes, Columbia International University Jessica Zvers, Grace College
