Media release 17 May, 2012 Pizza Capers delivers top customer experience after acquisition Retail Food Group’s acquisition of Pizza Capers in February has not dented the gourmet franchise brand’s strong customer experience, according to an independent national survey released today. Pizza Capers customers voted the brand into first place in the Canstar Blue survey ahead of competitors Dominos, Eagle Boys, Crust and Pizza Hut. The brand also topped the charts according to its customers in the areas of service and taste. “The results show Pizza Capers has continued to deliver for its customers since listed franchise group Retail Food Group purchased the gourmet brand earlier this year in February. This is the second year Pizza Capers has taken out the top prize in our Pizza Stores category,” said Manager of Canstar Blue Rebecca Logan. “Given Retail Food Group announced ambitious plans to increase Pizza Capers store numbers by 18% in 2012, it is promising to see they are not growing at the expense of their customer experience so far.” The survey also revealed one in two respondents prefer to spend more on a gourmet pizza experience when they have a pizza craving. “Another interesting finding was that 27% of respondents have the best of intentions in choosing a lower calorie pizza option, but change their mind in favour of comfort food at the last minute. Generation Y respondents were the most likely to flip at point of sale (36%) compared with 22% of Baby Boomers,” said Ms Logan. “21% of respondents overall choose a lower calorie option most of the time when ordering pizza, demonstrating the growing popularity of healthier fast food options.” Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The results of the online news site survey reported are from 1,816 respondents within the survey group who had purchased and eaten a pizza (online or in person) from a store/restaurant in the last 3 months (not a frozen pizza from a supermarket) The independent survey was undertaken in conjunction with professional market researchers, Colmar Brunton.
