INTRODUCCION Los Coleoptera Eucinetoidea agrupan tres familias existentes en Nicaragua : Eucinetidae, Clambidae y Scirtidae (=Helodidae). Los Eucinetidae son coleópteros pequeños (2.5 - 3 mm). Son ovalados y con la cabeza metida debajo del pronoto. Presentan 6 segmentos abdominales visibles y las coxas posteriores son dilatadas en forma de placas, cubriendo casi todo el primer segmento abdominal visible. Se encuentran bajo corteza de árboles ó sobre hongos. Los Eucinetidae son reportados por primera vez de Nicaragua. Los Clambidae son coleópteros muy pequeños, alrededor de 1 mm. Son cafés o negro. Pueden doblar la cabeza y el protórax sobre el abdomen para formar una pequeña esfera. Son pubescentes y presentan las coxas posteriores en placas. Se encuentran en materia vegetal en descomposición. Los Clambidae son reportados por primera vez de Nicaragua. Los Scirtidae ó Helodidae son coleópteros parecidos a los Chrysomelidae Alticinae, presentan fémures posteriores adaptados para brincar. Las larvas son acuáticas y los adultos se encuentran en lugares húmedos sobre plantas o sobre pedazos de troncos sobre el suelo. -

Sci., Belgrade, 66 (4), 1473-1478, 2014 DOI:10.2298/ABS1404473T A CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF TURKISH DRYOPIDAE, ELMIDAE AND HETEROCERIDAE (COLEOPTERA: BYRRHOIDEA) FAUNA GANİ ERHAN TAŞAR Adıyaman University, Kâhta Vocational High School, Adıyaman, Turkey Abstract - In this study, species of the superfamily Byrrhoidea Latreille, 1804 (Coleoptera: Dryopidae, Elmidae and Hetero- ceridae) collected from Adıyaman province, Turkey, have been evaluated. The samples were collected from the vegetation in shallow areas of various lakes, rivers, watercourses and ponds. In the research area, four species belonging to Dryopidae, one subspecies belonging to Elmidae and two species belonging to the family Heteroceridae have been determined. Of these species; Dryops jeanneli Bollow, 1938 is recorded for the first time from Turkey; Heterocerus fusculus Kiesenwetter, 1843 is recorded for the second time from Turkey; Dryops lutulentus Erichson, 1847, Dryops nitidulus Heer, 1841, Dryops rufipes Krynicki, 1832, Elmis maugetii maugetii Latreillei, 1802 and Heterocerus fenestratus Thunberg, 1784 are recorded for the first time from the southeastern Anatolian region. Distributional data in Turkey and worldwide of these species are presented. The aedeagus photo of Dryops jeanneli Bollow and two Heteroceridae species are given. The morphological variability and different modes of life result from beetle ability to adapt to all kinds of habitats. Terrestrial and soil living forms dominate. Beetles undergo a complete metamorphosis and most species live in soil during at least one of the stages. They include predators, herbivores, parasites and sapro- phagans, playing a fairly significant role in nature and in man’s economy. Our knowledge of beetles, even of the common species, is insufficient. In spite of the fact that the beetle fauna of Central Europe has been studied relatively well, the knowledge accumulated is generally limited to the adults, while the immature stages have not been adequately studied. -

Agrilus guerini Lacordaire is recorded for the first time in Romania, in Southern Transylvania. The occurrence of this species in Romania was expected, as it is present in neighbouring countries. A short description, some aspects of biology and ecology, and a distribution map of this species in Romania are given. Keywords: Agrilus guerini, Buprestidae, first record, Romania The presence of Agrilus guerini Lacordaire, 1835 in Romania was expected, as it occurs in almost all of the surrounding countries. One specimen labelled “Erdély”, which means Transylvania, was found in the collections of the Natural History Museum of Budapest, but it lacked any other details. In 27.V.2017, Cosmin Ovidiu Manci collected 3 specimens (all females) of A. guerini and observed several others near Bretea Mureșană, at the edge of Brănișca Forest (N 45.9378°/ E 22.7351°, cca 200 m a.s.l., Hunedoara county). This is the first confirmed record of this species in Romania (fig. 1). The specimens were observed flying around or resting on the leaves of Salix cinerea. -

In total 27 species from 10 families Alleculidae (2), Anthicidae (6), Cantharidae (3), Cleridae (2), Elmidae (3), Glaphyridae (4), Elateridae (3), Helophoridae (2), Silphidae (1), and Spercheidae (1) were collected and identified. Zusammenfassung Die Käferfauna von Reisfeldern und umgebendem Grasland des nördlichen Iran wurde in dieser Arbeit untersucht. Insgesamt konnten 27 Arten der 10 Familien Alleculidae (2), Anthicidae (6), Cantharidae (3), Cleridae (2), Elmidae (3), Glaphyridae (4), Elateridae (3), Helophoridae (2), Silphidae (1), and Spercheidae (1) gesammelt und bestimmt werden. Introduction Coleoptera is the largest order that contains 40% of all described insect species (more than 350,000 species), and new species are constantly discovered. These insects live throughout the world (except Antarctica), but most of them occur in the tropics (WHITE 529 1983; LAWRENCE & BRITTON 1994). The oldest fossils of Coleoptera are from the Lower Permian (about 265 million years ago) (PAKALUK & SLIPINSKI 1995). They range in size from minute featherwing beetles (Ptiliidae, 0.3 mm long) to the giant Goliath and Hercules beetles (Scarabaeidae, over than 15 cm long) (ARNETT 1973; BORROR CORRECT FONT et al. 1989). Beetles have variable life styles, the majority are terrestrial herbivores, though many families are predators, some are parasitic, in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. -

The paper presents new data on the distribution and ecology of P. acuminatus in Serbia. During the Regular Annual Monitoring Sampling in the period 2011-2013, the presence of P. acuminatus was confirmed at eight sampling sites situated at six rivers: Lugomir, Ljudska Reka, Vlasina, Ibar, Za- padna Morava and Velika Morava. Particularly important are the records from the potamal zone of the Velika Morava River of this primarily hyporhitral and mesorhitral taxon. The specimens were found at the edges of stones, under broken tree trunks, rotting branches and stumps submerged in water. The species is absent in reservoirs, lakes and artificial water bodies in Serbia, as well as in lowland parts of the country (Vojvodina, Pannonian Plain). It is very rare and scarcely distributed in lowlands (except Pannonian Plain) and in river valleys in submountain regions. -
