I assume this role from the esteemed Nancy Ledeboer. We owe a debt of gratitude to Nancy, Ann Hurst and Don Anderson, all of whom depart the board after serving two dedicated and transformational terms. Under their stewardship, KSPS fostered and realized a plan to extend and deepen our public service through community initiatives and forward-thinking leadership. They leave KSPS preeminently poised to lead public broadcasting into a new era of creativity and value in a changing media environment. Despite the loss of such towering individuals, we are excited to welcome James Alexie, Addy Hatch, Kim Lloyd, and Rosemary Selinger to the KSPS Board of Directors. Each brings a diverse background, combined with a strong commitment to Public Television that will serve KSPS well for years to come. Personally, I am excited to continue the initiatives and focus that so many before me have shaped and refined and to serve KSPS as we continue to provide our local communities with trusted, educational and inspirational resources — both in person, over the air and across the Internet. Sincerely, Jeffrey Adams Chair, Friends of KSPS Board of Directors Inland Sessions Boost Local Artists This year has definitely brought unprecedented challenges — to the region, to North America and to the world as a whole. As the pandemic spread, some of the hardest-hit facets of “normal life” were events and live performances. No matter the phase a local jurisdiction was in, restrictions on gathering sizes put a damper on the performing arts scene. KSPS PBS responded to the dilemma with its own unprecedented response: Inland Sessions — giving standout area artists a controlled environment in which to perform and to reach possibly a wider audience than might be possible performing in a local, live-music venue. We commend our KSPS Production staff for rising to the challenge with their ingenuity and creativity to bring this unique series to KSPS PBS viewers, both on-air and online. Here is a taste of what’s been in store from these taping sessions. Inland Sessions has been airing Mondays at 8:30 pm. In addition, a library of available performances can be found at www.ksps.org/InlandSessions. Above Right: Musicians Mateusz Wolski and Archie Chen perform duet.
