Maintenance of the 13 solar street lights installed @ Kodhavadi village Aim: • To power up a street lighting system through solar energy. • The solar street light have reduced the usage of fossil fuels and increase the using of new technology of renewable energy sources. • The solar street light system has no pollution like other power generation plant and it is non - conventional system to less space and efficient electricity output. Benefit to Village: The further use of solar street light system has removed many problems of the rural area like crime rate, increase the community of people at work etc. Duration: 01 Month Budget: 1,09,200/- 6 Problem definition: • Total Street Lamps in Kodhavadi village is around 52 including 13 Solar street lights • In Kodhavadi village there are 13 Solar Street lamps installed by panchayati raj in 2013. Out of which currently only one is in working condition • People requested us to service all the 13 Solar Street lamps in grama sabha held on 15 August 2018 • Initial step we had an first level Audit by Dr.S.R.Sivarasu, Energy Manager, Professor/SECE • It is found that all the batteries and control circuits are not in working condition and that to be replaced Solar Street Light Specifications: • Street Light Pole • 40AH Battery • PV Module 75W • 20W DC LED Light • 5 Amps Charge Controller 7 Current Scenario of the Village – Solar Street Lights under Repair 8 Budget: S.N Components Quantity U.Rate Amount o 1,04,000/ 1 40AH Battery – Exide 13 8,000 - 2 Charge Controller 13 400 5,200/- 1,09,200/ Total - 9 Work Plan: S.
