EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Proponent Miss. V.Miruthula Devi has been obtained permission from District collector Coimbatore to quarry Rough stone and Gravel for over an extent of 1.00.0Ha in Survey No: 64/1B (P) at Kothavadi Village, Kinathukadavu Taluk, Coimbatore District and Tamilnadu state by District Collector Coimbatore, Rc. No. 1442/2017/Mines, Dated: 05.07.2018 for a period of Five years subjected to submission of Environmental clearance from DEIAA, Coimbatore District, consent for Establishment and Consent for operation from TNPCB. Production capacity The proposed quantity of reserves is 55075m3 (or) 9179 Lorry Loads of Rough stone up to a depth of 27m below ground level for a period of Five years only. Method of Mining The quarrying operation will be carried out by Mechanized Opencast Method mining with 5.0 meter vertical bench with a bench width is not less than the bench height. Man power About 18 employees 27. Water requirement & Total water requirement for 1.0KLD from water source vendors & nearby Bore well. 28. Overburden /Waste The overburden in the form of Gravel formation is about 2730m3 up to a depth of 2m for a period of Five years. 29. Cost of the project The Project cost: A. Project cost = Rs. 31, 38,500/- B. EMP cost = Rs. 3, 80,000/- Total Project cost = Rs. 35, 18,500/- CER Cost (2.0%) = Rs. 71,000/- Total cost = Rs. 35, 89,500/- The Prefeasibility report preparing for following condition of Government of India Ministry of Environment and Forests (No.L-11011/47/2011 –IA-II (M) Dated: 24th June, 2013) River is situated in 3.0km western side of the lease applied area. There is no forest with in 10km radius. There is no Western Ghats with in 10km radius. There is no CRZ within the radius of 10km. There is no ‘HACA’ region within the radius of 10km. There is no interstate boundary within 10km radius from the lease area. There are no Bird sanctuaries, wild life sanctuary or National parks as per Wild life protection Act 1972, within the radius of 10kms. PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT OF KOTHAVADI ROUGH STONE AND GRAVEL QUARRY V.MIRUTHULA DEVI UNDER EIA NOTIFICATION 2006 The following information provided by the applicant I have applied for getting Environmental clearance to DEIAA, Coimbatore for quarry lease for quarrying of Rough stone and Gravel quarry in S.F.No: 64/1B (P) for over an extent of 1.00.0HaPatta land in Kothavadi Village, Kinathukadavu Taluk and Coimbatore District. I swear to state and confirm that within 10km area of the quarry site, we have applied for environmental clearance; none of the following is situated. Protected areas notified under Wild life (Protection) Act, 1972. Critically polluted areas as notified by the central pollution control board constituted under water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974. Eco – Sensitive areas as notified. Interstate boundaries and international boundaries within 5km radius from the boundary of the proposed site. There is no quarries located within 500m radius from the periphery of my quarry site. There will not be hindrance or disturbance to the public during transportation. No villages are enrouted during transportation. There is no habitation within 300m radius of the lease applied area. I swear that afforestation will be carried out during the course of quarrying operation and maintained. The required insurance will be taken in the name of the labourers working in my quarry site. Approach road is already existing no other private patta roads encountered. I will not engage any child labour in my quarry site and I aware that engaging child labour is punishable under the law. All types of safety/ protective equipment will be provided to all the labourers working in my quarry. No permanent structures, temples etc., are located within 100m radius from the periphery of my quarry. The Mining Plan was got approval by the Joint Director / Assistant Director (i/c), Department of Geology and Mining, Coimbatore vide Rc. No. 1442/Mines/2017, Dated: 16.07.2018 PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT OF KOTHAVADI ROUGH STONE AND GRAVEL QUARRY V.MIRUTHULA DEVI UNDER EIA NOTIFICATION 2006 (ii) Brief description of nature of the project Mining: The lease area is exhibits plain topography. The Rough stone and Gravel quarrying operation is proposed to carry out by conventional opencast mechanized method by formation of benches. Six benches are proposed with a height of 5mts on Rough stone and Gravel. The width of each bench is proposed not less than the height. Besides the rough stone locked up in benches will be exploited after obtaining necessary permission from the office of Director General of Mine Safety, Chennai region by submitting relevant documents, appropriate safety plans and its Mitigation measures. The quarry operation involves jackhammer drilling; Slurry blasting and excavators are used for loading the Rough stone from pithead to the needy crushers. The proposed quantity of Rough Stone and Gravel: The proposed quantity of reserves is about 55075m3 of Rough stone. The overburden in the form of Gravel formation is about 2730m3 up to a depth of 2m, the excavated rough stone will be directly loaded into tipper to the needy crusher. The quarry operation is proposed up to a depth for 27m below Ground level for a period of Five years only. (iii) Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region The Rough stone is important building material to our country and region; it’s a vital material for Infrastructure development and Road widening project.
