Kolose 1:13-23A 13 Ia Telah Melepaskan Kita Dari Kuasa 22 Maret ● SENIN MINGGU KELIMA PRA PASKAH Ia yang lebih utama dalam segala sesuatu Kolose 1:13-23a 13 Ia telah melepaskan kita dari kuasa kegelapan dan memindahkan kita ke dalam Kerajaan Anak-Nya yang kekasih; 14 di dalam Dia kita memiliki penebusan kita, yaitu pengampunan dosa. 15 Ia adalah gambar Allah yang tidak kelihatan, yang sulung, lebih utama dari segala yang diciptakan, 16 karena di dalam Dialah telah diciptakan segala sesuatu, yang ada di sorga dan yang ada di bumi, yang kelihatan dan yang tidak kelihatan, baik singgasana, maupun kerajaan, baik pemerintah, maupun penguasa; segala sesuatu diciptakan oleh Dia dan untuk Dia. 17 Ia ada terlebih dahulu dari segala sesuatu dan segala sesuatu ada di dalam Dia. 18 Ialah kepala tubuh, yaitu jemaat. Ialah yang sulung, yang pertama bangkit dari antara orang mati, sehingga Ia yang lebih utama dalam segala sesuatu. 19 Karena seluruh kepenuhan Allah berkenan diam di dalam Dia, 20 dan oleh Dialah Ia memperdamaikan segala sesuatu dengan diri-Nya, baik yang ada di bumi, maupun yang ada di sorga, sesudah Ia mengadakan pendamaian oleh darah salib Kristus. 21 Juga kamu yang dahulu hidup jauh dari Allah dan yang memusuhi-Nya dalam hati dan pikiran seperti yang nyata dari perbuatanmu yang jahat, 22 sekarang diperdamaikan-Nya, di dalam tubuh jasmani Kristus oleh kematian-Nya, untuk menempatkan kamu kudus dan tak bercela dan tak bercacat di hadapan-Nya. 23 Sebab itu kamu harus bertekun dalam iman, tetap teguh dan tidak bergoncang, dan jangan mau digeser dari pengharapan Injil, yang telah kamu dengar dan yang telah dikabarkan di seluruh alam di bawah langit, dan yang aku ini, Paulus, telah menjadi pelayannya Renungan Bagian ini memberi kita himne Kristologis lain yang ditulis dengan indah yang membawa pengajaran mendalam tentang Yesus Kristus. Ia berada di luar batas ruang dan waktu. Dia ada di sana sebelum dunia diciptakan. Dia ada di sana pada awal penciptaan. Dia masih bersama kita, mengawasi ciptaan-Nya dan di dalam Dia "segala sesuatu bersatu". Tidak ada yang bisa dibandingkan dengan keunggulan dan supremasi Yesus Kristus. Di antara banyak hal lain yang telah Yesus lakukan adalah anugerah-Nya yang tak ternilai bagi umat manusia. Ingatlah bahwa Dia adalah Tuhan atas ciptaan, namun Dia dengan rela mempersembahkan diri-Nya, untuk kebaikan kita, “dengan darah salib-Nya”. Dalam himne Kristologis lainnya yang ditemukan di Filipi 2, kita diberitahu bahwa Yesus “dalam keadaan sebagai manusia, Ia telah merendahkan diri-Nya dan taat sampai mati, bahkan sampai mati di kayu salib” (Filipi 2:8). Yesus Tuhan atas segala ciptaan, merendahkan diri-Nya, dan pergi ke kayu salib, untuk menawarkan kepada manusia yang sesat jalan keluar dari dosa-dosa kita. Hanya Yesus saja yang bisa menawarkan anugerah hadiah ini, memberi kita pengampunan dan rekonsiliasi yang tidak selayaknya kita peroleh. Lalu bagaimana kita akan menanggapi Ia yang lebih utama dalam segala sesuatu dan kehadiran-Nya? Kita dapat menanggapi dengan menolaknya atau dengan meletakkan hadiah ini di peti es. Namun jika Yesus adalah seperti yang kita katakan, adalah bodoh bagi kita untuk menolak Dia atau menempatkan Dia di pinggir hidup kita. Tanggapan yang tepat bagi kita adalah menempatkan Dia di pusat kehidupan kita sewaktu kita berusaha untuk menjadi "kudus dan tak bercela dan tak bercacat" dan "bertekun dalam iman, tetap teguh dan tidak bergoncang, dan jangan mau digeser dari pengharapan Injil." Ini harus menjadi tanggapan praktis kita, diinformasikan oleh iman kita pada keunggulan Kristus dan hadiah tak ternilai yang telah Dia tawarkan dengan murah hati kepada kita. Doa Allah, Tuhan kita, sangat mudah bagi kita untuk menyatakan bahwa kita percaya kepada Yesus Kristus dan menyanyikan pujian atas kebesaran-Nya. Sebab orang itu membuat banyak mujizat. 48 Apabila kita biarkan Dia, maka semua orang akan percaya kepada-Nya dan orang-orang Roma akan datang dan akan merampas tempat suci kita serta bangsa kita." 49 Tetapi seorang di antara mereka, yaitu Kayafas, Imam Besar pada tahun itu, berkata kepada mereka: "Kamu tidak tahu apa-apa, 50 dan kamu tidak insaf, bahwa lebih berguna bagimu, jika satu orang mati untuk bangsa kita dari pada seluruh bangsa kita ini binasa." 51 Hal itu dikatakannya bukan dari dirinya sendiri, tetapi sebagai Imam Besar pada tahun itu ia bernubuat, bahwa Yesus akan mati untuk bangsa itu, 52 dan bukan untuk bangsa itu saja, tetapi juga untuk mengumpulkan dan mempersatukan anak-anak Allah yang tercerai-berai. 53 Mulai dari hari itu mereka sepakat untuk membunuh Dia. 54 Karena itu Yesus tidak tampil lagi di muka umum di antara orang-orang Yahudi, Ia berangkat dari situ ke daerah dekat padang gurun, ke sebuah kota yang bernama Efraim, dan di situ Ia tinggal bersama-sama murid-murid-Nya. 55 Pada waktu itu hari raya Paskah orang Yahudi sudah dekat dan banyak orang dari negeri itu berangkat ke Yerusalem untuk menyucikan diri sebelum Paskah itu. 56 Mereka mencari Yesus dan sambil berdiri di dalam Bait Allah, mereka berkata seorang kepada yang lain: "Bagaimana pendapatmu? Akan datang jugakah Ia ke pesta?" 57 Sementara itu imam-imam kepala dan orang-orang Farisi telah memberikan perintah supaya setiap orang yang tahu di mana Dia berada memberitahukannya, agar mereka dapat menangkap Dia. Renungan Joseph Kayafas, menantu mantan imam besar Hanas, adalah imam besar dari tahun 18 hingga 36 M. Dia adalah anggota partai Saduki. Dia telah ditempatkan pada kedudukan itu oleh pendahulu Pontius Pilatus sebagai prokurator Romawi di Yudea, menunjukkan bahwa imamat tinggi adalah jabatan politik, tidak dikendalikan oleh orang Yahudi sendiri selama periode ini, tetapi pada dasarnya ditunjuk oleh penguasa Romawi. Karena inilah kelas pendeta tinggi merasa tidak aman. Pada pertemuan Sanhedrin, terjadi perdebatan hebat tentang apa yang harus dilakukan terhadap Yesus. Yesus melakukan banyak mukjizat dan dalam ayat- ayat sebelumnya dari pasal ini, kita melihat salah satu mukjizat terbesar dari Yesus, Ia membangkitkan Lazarus, saudara laki-laki Maria dan Marta yang telah meninggal selama 4 hari. Banyak yang menyaksikan mukjizat ini mulai percaya dan mengikuti Yesus. Ini sangat mengecewakan Sanhedrin yang berkata "jika kita membiarkan dia terus seperti ini, semua orang akan percaya padanya". Tapi mereka tidak yakin bagaimana menghentikan Dia. Mereka telah mencoba untuk menangkap Yesus sebelumnya tetapi gagal. Kayafas mencoba membujuk Sanhedrin dengan membuatnya terdengar seperti satu-satunya solusi dan hal yang benar untuk dilakukan. Dia menyarankan untuk mengorbankan yang lebih rendah ("satu orang") untuk yang lebih besar ("seluruh bangsa") - satu orang binasa, daripada bangsa Yahudi. Sanhedrin memutuskan untuk mengambil nyawa Yesus. Nubuat dari Kayafas bahwa Yesus akan mati bagi bangsa ini sejalan dengan banyak nubuatan Alkitab tentang pendamaian dosa. Di bulan April 2020, di saat teduh saya, saya merasakan Tuhan mendorong saya untuk "mengasihi bangsa". Saya benar-benar bingung karena sebelum Covid- 19, saya melakukan perjalanan setiap bulan untuk misi. Bangsa-bangsa selalu dekat dengan hati saya tetapi karena Covid-19, hampir tidak mungkin untuk melakukan perjalanan misi. Saya ingat duduk di mobil saya dan hanya mengeluh kepada Tuhan bagaimana Covid-19 telah mengganggu hidup saya dan bagaimana hal itu telah memengaruhi persekutuan pertemuan di gereja. Tuhan kemudian mendorong saya untuk membaca tulisan suci yang sudah akrab dari Yesaya 60:1-3 – “Bangkitlah [dari depresi rohani menuju kehidupan baru], menjadi teranglah [bersinar dengan kemuliaan dan kecemerlangan Tuhan], sebab terangmu datang, dan kemuliaan TUHAN terbit atasmu. Sebab sesungguhnya, kegelapan menutupi bumi, dan kekelaman menutupi bangsa- bangsa; tetapi terang TUHAN terbit atasmu [Yerusalem], dan kemuliaan-Nya menjadi nyata atasmu.” Bangsa-bangsa berduyun-duyun datang kepada

    ACC15/2012/13/1 The Network for Inter Faith Concerns (NIFCON) of the Anglican Communion REPORT TO THE ANGLICAN CONSULTATIVE COUNCIL NIFCON exists to encourage: • Progress towards genuinely open and loving relationships between Christians and people of other faiths. • Exchange of news, information, ideas and resources relating to inter faith concerns between provinces of the Anglican Communion. • Local contextual and wider theological reflection. • Witness and evangelism where appropriate. • Prayerful and urgent action with all involved in tension and conflict. • Support for people of faith, especially Christians, who live as religious minorities in situations of discrimination or danger.     Hull History Centre: Papers of Dr Royston Aubrey Bruton U DRB Papers of Dr Royston Aubrey Bruton 1924-1994 Biographical background: Royston Aubrey Bruton was born near Chesham in Buckinghamshire in 1936 and attended Amersham College, a private high school. After national service he graduated with a certificate of education from Worcester Teachers' Training College in 1959 and was then awarded scholarships that took him to the London School of Economics where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1964. In 1966 he obtained a diploma in education from the London University Institute of Education. He was also appointed lecturer at Battersea College of Education where he taught until 1978. He was promoted to senior lecturer in 1967. Through this time he worked on his masters dissertation on Chinese education in Sarawak 1841-1941 and was awarded his degree in 1971 through the Institute of Education in the department for education in developing countries. In 1971 he registered as a doctoral student through the Institute and began his research on education and the Bidayuh people of Sarawak, whom he visited in four consecutive years from 1973 to 1976. He studied the work of schools in the Tebia area of the Kuching district, coming into contact with Archdeacon Peter Howes, explaining why some of Howes' work is embedded within the Bruton archive. Howes was a missionary with the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel and later became assistant bishop of Kuching. He retired in 1981. Roy Bruton left his post at Battersea College in 1978 to concentrate on his PhD thesis which was submitted in final form in 1981, when he was awarded the degree in the sociology of education by the University of London.
