The 2018 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour continues with the starred classification of its events, with three five-star events, all of which are the Major Series, nine four-star events, six three- star events, seven two-star events, and 22 one-star events, along with the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals. One FIVB Age Group World Championships for players under the age of 19 will also be held. The 2018 World Tour began in September of 2017 in France and concludes in August in Germany. 2018 marks the 32nd anniversary of the first FIVB Beach Volleyball event held February 17-22, 1987 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Four events played in 2017: France (Montpellier), China (Qinzhou), Netherlands (Aalsmeer), and Australia (Sydney), are part of the 2018 FIVB World Tour. Four events held in August-October, 2018 in Hungary (Siofok), France (Montpellier), and China (Qinzhou and Yangzhou) will be part of the 2019 FIVB World Tour. · The double-gender $50,000 FIVB Agadir Two Star is the 37th men’s and the 38th women’s event on the 2018 FIVB World Tour. The FIVB returns to Morocco for the second time after a six-year absence. For more information regarding the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, please visit fivb.com. · July 25-29, Agadir, Morocco, Men and Women, $50,000 – Morocco has hosted three previous FIVB World Tour events, a men’s-only open in Agadir in 2011 and a double-gender One Star in Agadir in 2017. Host country Morocco’s best finish on its home soil is a men’s fourth-place by Mohamed Abicha/Zouheir Elgraoui in 2017 and a women’s ninth-place by two teams, also in 2017. · The FIVB Agadir Two Star starts July 25 and concludes July 29. The first men’s FIVB World Tour event was played February 17-22, 1987 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the first women’s event was played August 14-16, 1992 at Almeria, Spain.
