The 5PGA has been revised to provide you with a full season schedule of amateur golf tournaments that we hope you will find both fun and competitive. We look forward to continuing the tradition of great golf and providing the best playing conditions throughout the season to our association members. “New for 2020” we have expanded the playing opportunities and updated the schedule to help spread out the matches to offer you the best opportunity to participate. We offer 15 in-house tournaments exclusively for our association members, which is capped off with our year end Ryder Cup and Banquet. Also, you can enjoy our “Open” events at Five Ponds where you will receive a $5.00 discount on entry fees for being a 5PGA Member. All 5 Ponds Golf Association members may register to compete on one of our three Golf Association of Philadelphia (G.A.P.) teams. Skins are optional BOTH Greens Fees of $142 will be collected on the Day 1 for 2 Day Events (Non-Refundable). We hope this will eliminate golfers from “no showing” on Day 2. For 2 Day Events, Players will be paired for their second round based on their first round score. Players ages 55-64 qualify for our Senior Division and will play White Tees (Select Events) Players ages 65+ qualify for our Super Senior Division and will play the Green tees (Select Events) Club Championship Tee Boxes – Champ Flight Blue Tees, A Flight Blue/White Tees, B Flight White Tees Signup sheets will be posted in the golf shop and sent electronically for registration 30 days before the qualifying date or start date. (Please see 5PGA bulletin board in Pro Shop for all event details) 2021 Five Ponds Golf Association 2021 Schedule of Events Weekend Series Events There will be a monthly weekend Stroke play series that will take place over a 3 day period. A 5PGA player may play Friday, Saturday or Sunday with an attested scorecard. You will play on whichever day works best for your schedule, then turn the card in to the pro shop. There will be a Gross and Net winner for each event. The payout will be a FREE round of golf played any day of the week. ($71 value) Season Opener Par 3 Tournament Saturday March 20 We will kick off the season with our inaugural Par 3 tournament. All holes will be yardages ranging from 75-200 yards. There will be a regular and senior winner. We will shotgun start at 10:00am. The payout will be a FREE round of golf played any day of the week. ($71 value) Better Ball of Partners Championship Match Play Begins April 3 / 4 100% Handicap Net Match Play Event (Prior Year Winner’s #1 Seed, Blind Draw or Qualifying determine remaining seeding) 16 Team Minimum, 32 Team Max** Presidents Cup Match Play Begins June 5 / 6 100% Handicap Net Match Play (Prior Year Winner #1 seed, Blind Draw or Qualifying to determine remaining seeding) Minimum 16 players, Max 32 Club Championship – 36 Hole Stroke Play Tee Times will be reserved on Saturday for players. Some players may have preferred tee times on Saturday. ALL PLAYERS will play in the reserved times for Sunday. Time blocks will be reserved for each flight. Championship flight will tee off last. You will be flighted on your handicap index, may choose to play in a harder flight but can only play in 1 flight. Flights will be determined by number of signups. You can play any day with an attested scorecard! You have a choice of which holes you want to play from red, white or blue tees! Choose wisely! The scorecards will get turned in to the golf shop and the winners will be announced the day after Labor Day! The payout will be a FREE round of golf played any day of the week. ($71 value) Senior Club Championship Stroke Play Event September 25 / 26 2 Day- 36 Hole Event Senior - Ages 55 to 64 (White Tees) Super Senior - Ages 65+ (Green Tees) On Saturday players may play with fellow competitors anytime, however for Sunday’s round Players will be paired based on their first round score. ***BOTH Greens Fees of $142 will be collected on the Day 1 for 2 Day Events (Non- Refundable). We hope this will eliminate golfers from “no showing” on Day 2.*** Five Ponds Stroke Play Championship October 16 / 17 100% handicap event The Stroke Play Championship will be a two-day event with Gross and Net division winners. Over the two days, competitors play 36 holes of stroke play. On Saturday, players may play with fellow competitors at any time. Nothing better than a team competition to get the competitiveness and comradery out of us! It has been an event that everyone looks forward to at the end of the season. Split into two teams, The Ryder Cup will be an 18-hole event with (3) 6 Hole Matches with 3 Different. The formats will be comprised of Better Ball of Partners, Scramble and Modified Alternate shots.
