  • Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions Why is Illinois State University adopting this policy for Hancock Stadium? Our guests are our most prized partners, and ensuring their safety is a top priority. World events continue to impact our security and we cannot ignore them in the annual analysis of our public safety and stadium security policies. How does this policy improve public safety? Clear bags provide layers of security with less inconvenience to our guests. As guests walk toward our events, law enforcement can easily spot prohibited items and have the ability to resolve issues before they can get into the stadium. The clear bags are easier and faster to search, greatly reducing faulty bag searches. The policy supports the Department of Homeland Security’s “See Something, Say Something” campaign. Additionally, inside the venue, staff members know that a clear bag has already been searched and that any non‐clear bag without a security tag requires their attention. How does this expedite my entry into the venue? This policy enables us to move guests through our security checkpoints faster, allowing staff to be more efficient and effective in checking bags that are brought into the venue. A standard size bag eliminates the need for bag templates to check sizes. Overall, shorter lines mean fewer hassles, and an improved sense of safety for games. How many bags can each person bring into the venue? Each ticketed guest can carry one large clear bag‐ either a one‐gallon Ziploc‐style bag or the 12”x 6”x 12” clear bag‐ plus a small clutch purse (4.5” x 6.5”).

  • Travel Guidelines
Travel Guidelines: San Raymundo, Guatemala Refuge International Code of Conduct It is imperative that you read and understand our Code of Conduct policy (separate document) prior to joining us in Guatemala. Infractions will result in you being sent home at your own expense. COVID-19 PANDEMIC & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS As with so many countries worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a country-wide shutdown for most of 2020. Mandatory mask mandates, strict curfews, transportation limitations and cancellation of all public and holiday events brought swift and long-lasting impact to those who already struggled to survive here. Virtually all health care services were closed as resources were re-directed to pandemic efforts. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Health launched a vaccination program but the roll-out has been limited and many Guatemalans (particularly indigenous communities) are wary of (or inclined against) receiving the vaccine. INBOUND TRAVELER REQUIREMENTS Currently, all inbound travelers to Guatemala are required to present one of the following: (1) proof of negative COVID-19 testing (Antigen or PCR) performed within 72-hours of travel; (2) completed vaccination more than 2-weeks prior to arrival; or (3) health-provider certified proof of recent (within 3-months) recovery. Your team leader will send updated entry requirements as the date for the team’s inbound flight approaches. HEALTH & HYGIENE ISSUES Food & Water: Tap water is NOT SAFE for drinking or brushing your teeth anywhere in Guatemala. While at the clinic, we have a local team that will prepare our food. Safe food and water are a top priority. While fresh fruits and vegetables are readily available, it is best to eat only that which has a thick peel protecting the inner fruit such as bananas, papaya, watermelon, etc.
